Japanese Knotweed - research on eradication (or not!)

    I hesitate to claim that I eradicated it, but I got rid of some 25 years ago and it hasn't come back yet.

    Out of interest - what method did you use and how long did it take?

    As far as I can remember I peeled the stalks a bit and then sprayed them and the leaves with glyphosate. I also poured some glyphosate down the inside of the hollow stems. I treated it like that twice a year for several years (about 5) without fail. It was also growing up through the tarmac in a leisure centre behind my fence and I sprayed that as well as I could from my property at the same time and that disappeared too. (I suspect it was all on the same root system).
