    Good evening everyone,
I have a large skull & very thick hair, hats no matter how glam never sit well. Small ones get lost and big ones make me look even shorter & squatter. As for cloche types - well they really, really don't suit my square jaw. A very small plain facisnator is my limit if I really had to but I'd rather not.....

After all this afternoon's excitment I remembered that I have a 120:eek: pansy plugs arriving tomorrow or Friday. Thankfully the weather was kind and I managed to get 120 small pots filled ready for them. :)
Garden gatherings today are runner beans, peas, chard & calvo nero for diiner tonight but I'll also cook some of the French beans for tomorrow's Salad Nicoise and some extra spuds. My Dad is coming over mid morning as he has some online stuff he needs a hand with so I want most of the prep done in advance. Despite my sister getting me some stuff I'm running really low on fresh stuff and my younger son is home this weekend so Tesco order has been placed for tomorrow evening. While I feel I actually eat less in the summer or perhaps eat lighter/differently and I have my home grown veg I do seem to need to shop more frequently in the warmer months. That said my last fresh stuff shop was on the 30th July (apart from filo & aubergine) so maybe not so bad after all.

    Hats are problematic.

Personally - I think scarves wound round my head sorta Iranian style suit me and I like them - but they do have "connotations" and it's more difficult in a less cosmopolitan area (ie where people do "blink an eyelid" I notice).

I like the idea of various headwear made from scarves - but that has other "connotations".

Cue for getting stuck as to just what headwear I can wear....and no conclusions drawn yet. So my sympathies on that problem..

Hmmm...thinks....errrrm....I wonder if we even do them in this country - but maybe a large/glamorous (but not "over the top") hair ornament so to say. That rather than a hat. I'm sorta picturing an elegant/classy looking large hair ornament. I can picture what I mean - but its describing it that's the problem.

EDIT; Aha - apparently we do (possibly). Quick google of "hair ornaments for short hair" brought up some images - some of which are something like I'm picturing.

I don't do scarves either - they make me look like Les Dawson:rotfl::rotfl:
I don't think a hat etc. will be needed as I think they might just take themselves off at some point in the future and get wed, though you never know. ;)

I would stick to the plate smashing too :rotfl: Restina _pale_ tastes like something you paint fences with.

My gran wouldn't leave the house without her hat on, I only remember her having the one it was navy to match her winter coat stuck on with large hat pins through her bun :)she had a lot of grandchildren so there's a lot of family wedding photos from the 60s and 70s with her in that hat :rotfl:

    Good morning everyone,

The sun is shining and I was up and organised as my Dad was due for lunch. Unfortunately he's had an attack of his tummy troubles :( so has had to postpone until next week so I'll be eating Salad Nicoise for a couple of days as I had it semi prepped and had just opened a tin of tuna when he called. Thankfully he sees a specialist at the end of the month re possible surgery to help the problem as it's really impacting on his life and he is still losing weight quite rapidly.
Lunch will be the afore mentioned salad and I'm having stuffed pasta with HM pesto tonight as my basil plant has gone into overdrive:)

I'm going to use the last of the spinach to make a smoothie with banana and an apple.

I feel like having veggie pizza for dinner.

Rain at last, woke to a nice wet morning, one less job for today

I have to report that a Christmas pudding met it's end in my nuker last night. After my less than tasty kippers in bag & [STRIKE]wallpaper paste slurry [/STRIKE]instant mash dinner I needed something nice, and there it was, one very old pud, BBE April 2018, it's time was up. Still have enough left to kid myself I was self controlled

Usual porridge breakfast, then off to dentist, just check up, a big Gold Star from him, no work required, keep up the good work etc. Those choc ices are obviously working wonders on the gnashers:D

Mooch around shops, only YS item was 4 pack of choc chip muffins, with the all clear from dentist I was fine to eat these. Only half a crown each. Eee, when I were a lad you could get 20 Woodbines for less:mad:

Stuck for lunch & dinner, so I planned corned beef & tom in a PB Baguette, with rest of the CB being used with LO instant mash gloop in a oven baked hash. I've found a recipe that includes beans, cheese, ketchup & Marmite, just the job on a cooler damp day

2x toast for breakfast, with marg on.

Went out shopping for household stuff ... still managed to arrive home with a 325g bag of Twix chocolate bars :) Ate some of those.

Ate the cucumber sandwich I'd made/wrapped up yesterday.

No idea what to eat later.... if I eat the chips I'll need to buy more chips, but there's no room in the freezer for them really ... and I had chips/fish fingers/beans last night.

I'll see what suddenly seems like a good idea a bit later on when "the blindingly obvious" food to eat springs to mind.
