I've had roughly £450 invested since early 2007 and about £600 since early 2008 and I've just had my third prize (first 2 were £50, this one was £25).

From Martin's guide and the maths involved I've been pretty lucky to get 3 prizes in 4 years. I think the odds are I should expect about 1 prize every 3 years.
  • That's tough, jerrys. I first became hooked on PBs when I started with £2000 and won £50 in both the 1st and 2nd months' draws. Good luck for next time.
Thanx, I have had £1 for ages and decided to up a bit. Really looking forward to my first win! Hope April will be lucky for me.

  • My Dad bought me three £1 bonds in 1960, found them the other day and checked them £50!

  • Hi,
Won £25 this month the first win since last October and I have the full holding. I haven't won a higher value than £25 since all this doom and gloom started! I have some money to invest and the advisor was so anti PBs. But I feel the money is safe and there is that element of excitement around the 1st of the month and then of course the disappointment.
My partner died a year ago New Year's day and I left his bonds in and with probate done I received 3x25 his winnings for the whole year. He had £10,000 plus £1.200 in prizes but because he left a Spanish will I had to have an affidavit from Madrid which cost £1.200! Beware if you are living in Spain make an English will.
