what does the IS allow by way of living expenses?

    There are no 'allowances' in the public domain as such (there used to be)
    The best way to get guidance on this is to post an SOA here and those with experience of BR can say whether your costs seem reasonable.
    Everyone's circumstances are different

    Hi there,


    I have been allowed for groceries for myself and my daughter £55/week.
    To be honest,I can see prices goes up,and we really spending more.
    I have never kept receipts for it;is there chance to ask review my IPA?

    Yes you can - you need to tell the IS that such money is not enough to cover your grocery costs.
    You need to be looking at £400 - £450 per month for the two of you combined.
