What are your opinions on new iPhones?
Do they offer anything new or is it wiser just to buy older models that are dropping in price a bit now?

You only buy an iPhone for the software. If Apple let other manufacturers use IOS there would be a level playing field and an iPhone could be as good as an android at any price point but Apple won't let anyone else use IOS and as a monopoly provider they overcharge.

Google is in the business of owning search and thus created android so they could make sure search was prominent on mobile and would not be pushed out by Microsoft. They even pay Apple billions of dollars to remain the default search on iOS.

There is no business gain for Apple to give iOS away.

Apple and some top tier android phone manufacturers make great products and shockingly they both can make money from it by making products that people want to buy. Itís not a crime or a sign of degrading mental health that someone sees value in something that another person canít.

Apple makes massive profits and pays a larger dividend than any other company. Long may it continue. I live off their profits and the dividends of the world's largest companies. Without their dividends I would have to work for a living.

Not for £70 but for £240 you can have a brand new SE from JL.
The E4 is great for the money but I would not want it as my main driver.

Apple normally charge at least twice as much compared to the same hardware but with a different operating system. So if you are capable of using android you can save a lot of money. Good advice for a money saving site. Those incapable will just have to pay more and be poorer (but make me richer). Oh why do I bother?

In the past, bar a couple of models, I've gone for the latest iPhone when Apple have announced one.

Recently I used Envirofone and purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge-and for a phone that's a 'few' generations old and it does the job just fine.

Everyone's needs are different but I, for one, won't be in a rush to get the newest handset in the future!

I have a an Android phone but do use an iPad as a tablet, mainly as doing it through my network worked out cheaper over 3 years than buying a device and data separately. My phone is mine, on a SIM only contract, as that was most suitable at this time.

If Android worked out cheaper/better, Iíd do that. I am a business user though, so weighing up cost and usability for my needs is more important than cost alone (and I felt that £18 extra over 3 years did that for the iPad).

I donít see the point in being nasty, nor do I see the point in paying a fortune for a phone when there is an equivalent alternative for about half the money, if someone wants to do or can get a better deal that is right for them so that is their choice,

I can spell, my iPad can't.
