    :rotfl:

My first attempt wasn't great...took to walking them when the usual people I see wouldn't be around :o Getting more confident and Springy enjoys it, whilst Doodle puts up with it - I've gone more towards scissor trimming her as don't like her shaved.

I've been doing my OH's since last summer £9.99 for the whal clippers from B&M which covered the first cut... must have save £100 so far, plus time..... our hair dresser daughter can be critical (although hubby happy)... she hasn't offered to do it :)

I'm quite good at horses, but they tend to move a lot less. I did inadvertently create an arrow (pointing towards the rear) on my mare when my clipper blades died. Got photo proof and everything, because I'm an evil horsey mom. :rotfl:

    Nice savings!

Your work can't be that bad if your daughter the professional isn't inspired to step in to fix it. :)

I don't think I could do my own as it's quite curly/unruly so would want to be able to see what the overall shape looked like as I cut. DH didn't mind doing it once I found him an appropriate youtube video to watch for technique. I mostly braid/do up my hair anyway to get it out of my face so the ends aren't too noticeable anyway.

One car: purchased and safely/successfully driven home. :D Hardest part was figuring out how to access the fuel tank to put diesel in.

Dealer showed us something stating £2,795, so feel a bit better about that whole thing (we, in turn, showed him the screen showing £2,295). He also gave us £100 back from the purchase of the car, which was nice. He's going to try and get that back from gumtree, but good luck with that as I think he/his wife fat-fingered the price on the ad.

Spent 20 minutes fighting with the DVLA website but paid vehicle tax in the end. I don't generally object to taxes, but that's ridiculous - previous owner paid tax as of April 1 for 1 year when the MOT got done. Now we have to pay the same amount of tax, and previous owner will get refunded...but only for full months, so we both pay for April.

    Bottom line: yay new car!
  • Yay well done on the new car :)

I've always cut hubby's hair, I say this loosely as he just has grade 1 all over. We've used the same set of wahl clippers for longer than we've been together (14yrs). Very MSE and very time saving too as no need to book appts or leave home!

DH used to get BIL to do it, but we're not visiting them 5-6 times a year like he used to do before we met. He's gone to a barber locally a couple of times, but no reason we can't do it at home now. :) I try to never go to the hairdressers as they always take too much off or style it in some weird way that I can't/won't reproduce.

I cut DH's hair and have done for years now, again cut in the loosest sense in that I randomly run the clippers all over it. DS goes to the barbers only because I'm not skilled enough to graduate it in, though come summer hols, I'm really tempted to have a go at him and leave the back a little longer so it can all be the same length..

    April OPs: £1,503.66

    Current balance: £146,889.57
Month we’d be in to get to our current balance without OPs: April 2022 (+ 4 months!)

    2016 Overpayments: £10,952.18
    2016 Interest Saved: £10,346.86

    Total Overpayments: £36,158.22
    Total Interest Saved: £38,807.81

    Daily Interest: £9.79 (down £0.20)
    Monthly Interest: £301.89 (up £14.16)
    April 2015 Interest: £610.10 (down £308.21)
    April 2015 Daily Interest: £20.34 (down £10.55)

    House Bricks: +3

    Mortgage reduction: £14,779/£30,000 (49%) (Average: £3,694.75/mo)

Regular OP plus a bit. :)

    Stocks & shares ISA: £1,000/£1,200 (83%)

    No change

    Fitness: 45/150 runs (30%)

Horrible month, only ran 5 times. Did do the 5k distance, at least, but need to get back into a regular pattern again as the race is in 2 weeks. Illness + soreness + laziness...not good.

    Net worth increase: £23,276.52/£65,559.14 (35%)

Thank you, stock market, nice to see you not suck! Spending £2,700 at the end of the month on car stuff didn't really help (as we're not counting the car value in net worth).

    MFIT-4: £12,610.43/£90,000 (14%)

Broke the 14% mark only 8.3% into the challenge. :)
