Lovely house but what's that next to the fireplace?......Penny: I'm a little low on cash.
Leonard: How much you got?
Penny: Nothing!
Leonard: How can you walk around with no money?
Penny: I'm cute, I get by.0 -

Merstham is considered the 'bad' part of Redhill but one of my estate agents lived there and they usually know and he said it was ok and whenever I go through there it looks rather quaint but I do only see the main road.
Merstham is North of Redhill. The house in question is West between Redhill and Reigate which tends to be the most popular (expensive!!) part. South is Earlswood where I live which I think is very nice with good housing stock. There isn't really an East - it gets quite rural East!!
As for a 'decent shop' I presume you mean non-food as there is a good sized Sainsburys. There is Croydon north and Crawley south and trains take c35 mins into Victoria so you can be on Oxford Street in 45 mins should you wish.
I grew up in Merstham and my parents still live there, it's okish. Though to give you an idea the nicest street is up a hill near the train station and not near the estate and is called 'Quality Street'
Was living in the bit between Redhill and Reigate up until about a month ago - quite a nice area. There are some higher end shops in Reigate which is only a couple of miles from Redhill - (probably closer to the house but can't see a link). Ah how I miss the short journeys to London!0 -

Looks like a set of Samurai armour
I somehow didn't notice that
I thought Sensible_Jess was referring to the thing that's just to the other side of the fire in front of the bricks - it looks a bit like a great big stuffed toad standing on its hind legs...
Anyone with better eyesight than me got any idea what that is?0 -
It makes it look haunted - I swear it is moving the more I look at the picture, then it waves into view in the obscure hallway picture!
This is around the corner from me, blink and you miss the kitchen. . .

It's about 5mins from my house in a not so great area and is DOUBLE the price of anything else on that street
For the same price and in a much better area (just 5 or so mins away) you can have this...

Amazing, absolutely amazing.
Looks like some sort of ritual went on in the living room - with 2 people presiding over everything on their thrones. The shutters are to stop people escaping!
What's that in the corner of the room? It looks like a giant bat. :eek:0 -
I just looked at the streetview, the architect should be shot.0

That last house, it must be a mistake in the price. There's a virtually identical house on the same street for £419k. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-30338540.html0
