Hi I’m going to make a conscious effort this year. Please could I join? I have 20,000 debt and unsure how much to aim for this year. Would 4,000 be too high?1

Hi Moneybelle, your target can be whatever you like, only you know your finances and how tight they are, and whether this figure is realistic for you.
But for reference I've got £19k worth of debt, and I'm aiming for £4k this year, which I think is do-able for me and my situation. I'm secretly even hoping for a little more over that, but we will see!
January has been a slow start as I focused on re-balancing my budget from the post Christmas money hangover. Although I cleared my £144 OD, which technically is a debt, so I should probably add that to my total :rotfl:POAYDBX 2020 #? 20/4000

Got scared by the overdraft cost increases coming soon so managed to get another 0% cc, didn't really want another card but...I've used it to consolidate my overdraft and my normal credit card.
Such a faff but basically no longer paying any interest! :j

We will then be debt free by 31st December 2020 at the latest. This will be the first time in 17 years!!! I have put mine and my husbands debt together as I have let him deal with our accounts for 17 years with crap success. Therefore, I took over our bank accounts back in May 2019 when I couldn't bare the debt anymore. I have been on the right track ever since, thanks to this web site. :beer:1
