Evening all, great weekend with the family this weekend, been on some lovely walks.
Got me thinking.......sometimes this MF journey is a battle in the mind. My phone contract is coming to an end in a month and a half and I have been looking at New handsets/deals and what have you. BUT I have Martin's money mantra at the back of my mind DO I NEEED IT?
After much thought and swaying of opinion I really know my current phone is fine. Can get a £6 Vodafone SIM only deal and save 50% a month...I know now I will do this and save over £100 for the contract....but no new shiny phone.
And there is the battle, a mental game of convincing yourself you deserve a new one after so long (Or whatever the 'thing' is at anyone time) and stepping back and thinking about the long game.......gettint MF.
A year in and thought it would get easier but if anything it is easier to slip back into old ways......just gotta keep reminding myself of the end goal and not to give in to short term temptation
Keep strong my MF people!!Mortgage When Started Over Pay 01/11/2017- £146,500

13 months on since our first overpayment, seems a long time ago!
Including our £10k emergency savings and the money we can't pay directly on to the mortgage as reached our 10% limit for 2018, we have reduced our mortgage by £40,651 :j:beer:
£9.50 Sun Holidays, Aldi shopping trips, car with 110k on clock etc. etc......all add up to this figure!
Maybe if we are lucky with new job aspirations next year, could finish the mortgage in around 3 years.....we'll have to wait and see but whatever happens, really happy of how far we have comeMortgage When Started Over Pay 01/11/2017- £146,500

You're not trying! Mine currently has 272k miles, owes me virtually nothing, but also costs almost nothing to keep running.

272k miles! That's pretty good! Ours was costing too much in repairs so was time to go.......if it was trouble free defo would have kept it as was a great car......cant imagine too many cars getting to 270k miles and not falling apart so well done you mate
Hope your mf plans all come good for next year, you must be excited it's just round the corner!!Mortgage When Started Over Pay 01/11/2017- £146,500
