  • Had the car tax renewals today, £143 and £68.:o

Also OH had a letter from C@pit@l offering him a CC to help 'getting his credit rating back on track'......erm I don't think so!!

Sky finally finished, had an extra couple of days, I'm sure we're not going to miss it.:)

Today got some cash and paid childcare bill and lottery. Will need to get petrol tomorrow.

Still need to pay balance of school trip.

On the plus side it's nearly weekend.:D

  • Hi Alice

I've been a big lurker for the last week and have managed to read the whole thread! Just want to say what an amazing job I think you're doing. You've really made me think about what I spend on food shopping, entertainment etc and since starting this me and my OH went to ALD* instead of T*SCO to do our weekly shop.

Anyway, stay positive. I think your children will be so proud of you when they are older and realise what you did.:T

Awww thank you yellowflowers, I keep plodding on.:)
I've been splitting the food shopping between @ldi, sburys and the butchers and that seems to be keeping the costs down.

  • Still struggling to get these NSDs in, still only on 3! Friday had to get petrol and called into sburys to get some bits we needed for tea, spent £6. Went back to sburys yesterday armed with a list, spent £40, then to @ldi and spent £25.

Got the 2 most important things yesterday, hair serum and another tin opener.....let's see how long this one lasts, wouldn't mind but only use it to open 1 tin of tuna and the odd tin of fruit a week!

DS3 had a toy store voucher for Christmas so took him to spend it yesterday, it was really sweet to see him work out how he could spend it wisely......and every single penny of it too.:rotfl:

I'd had some m@s vouchers too so treated myself to new undies, what with my hair back under control and new underwear I'll be ready for anything tomorrow!!

I've got milk, bus money, OHs football money but haven't put any money into any of the pots. Once we pay our DMP payment tomorrow £475 that will leave £37 then we have mobile phone DD going out on Tuesday.

Yesterday pegged out, just airing it all, luckily I got it in before we went out and the rain started. Will try and do all the ironing today. We did have the heating on low yesterday evening but OH still moaning he's cold and has taken to sleeping in a sweatshirt.:o

Still need to pay school trip, find money to finish off car repairs and both car tax due end of month.

  • to the car! Thank goodness you did have the pots though :T. I hope you manage to find money for the other outstanding bills.

Btw I sort of mentioned you to dh the other day (without saying where I knew you from) his sister has had major floods in her new house this last week so I said to him when we buy we will find a house on a hill so we can't get flooded and also I knew this great lady who hung her washing out all through the year and it dries! He was amazed as I am:rotfl: and no doubt the estate agent will think I'm bonkers if I told them why I want a house on a hill too! Then I can join your group of enthusiasts :rotfl: until then I'm confined to hanging out in the house :( our garden is teeny, no sun and cold lol!

Right I'll go now I've jibbered on about utter nonsense :D

    Hey I don't think it's nonsense at all....I totally understand ;):D

Doubt it will flood where we are but I'd go for not so steep a hill, it's hard work when walking back from taking the dog out. Pegged out again today.:rotfl:

  • Today was NSD 4.:)

All the ironing done, including what was put out today. Sorted all the paperwork/post.....we should really sort it as it comes through the door. Had a bit of family time too...:)

Got a few bits for fleabag (well quite a few bits!), checked on there how much they're going for and don't know whether to wait and just do a massive carboot?!? Trouble is could do with the money now but the bits wouldn't make much after fees have been paid:o

Hope everybody has a good week.xx

  • Today was NSD6 :)

Nothing much to report.....which is good in a strange way.:)

We had a mortgage statement today, balance is just under £65k and just over 11years left. The total of our debt when we started our DMP was more than half of that:eek:

Hoping the petrol can last until Thursday (OHs payday).

  • Well done on scraping the money together for the car Alice. Our pots are now totally bled dry after our escapades of last year, then other expenses we weren't anticipating. I find it so scary having no fallback money, but I am slowly getting it together again, I now have £50 ! :D

I think DFWs Living on a hill plan is a grand idea. I though, live on a flood plain and have a west facing garden, completely over shadowed by next doors garage and a very boggy garden. There is absolutely no chance of our washing drying or if it did it would take a week. The airers are my current new best friend .

Glad you treated yourself to the undies and hair serum by the way ! A girl needs to spoil herself sometimes xx
