Eon getting rid of economy 10

I have just been informed by Eon that they will be getting rid of some of their tariffs later this year which will effect one of my rentals. The change gives my tenants three options with what tariffs remain which means a 40% increase in price at the very least going on past usage.

Anyone heard the same and what are you doing about it?

Also, if you post in the correct section of "Energy", rather than the "LPG, Heating Oil, Solid & Other Fuels", then you may get more replies.

On Eon E10 dual rate here but haven’t been informed yet about any changes.
My 70’s electric warm air system has stopped charging and may get around to fixing it. Otherwise if the changes do affect me then I’ll need to look at alternative electric heating.
Problem is though the wiring is for a central storage heater rather than individual space storage heaters like those on E7.

Hello triathlon and hope the threads Mister G and Biscuit Tin have linked to were helpful. Thanks both.

As in these threads, we no longer support certain types of complex meter. This includes three rate Economy 10 meters. As we've written to you, I suspect this the type of meter at your rental.

We're looking to replace these meters and have set up a specialist Simpler Metering team to look after the project. Please talk to this team (contact details will be in the letter) and they'll go through the alternatives including talking about the tariffs. These alternatives include Economy 10 (two-rate), Economy 7 and single rate.

Hope this points you in the right direction triathlon. Let me know if you need any more details as happy to help.

    Hello danrv

The changes discussed here might not impact you. We're only looking to replace older three-rate Economy 10 meters. If you've one of the more recent two-rate Economy 10 meters, you won't be affected by the changes outlined here and in the letters customers have mentioned.

    Hope this explains danrv.
