where is best to save 18500.00 for a couple of months

hi there, just sold out car and were on the look out for another but will probably wait until the new plate is out, whats the best place to put this money so that i earn a little extra on it please.

    At the moment Halifax high interest current account ,but an ISA with National Savings if you want to pay no tax

    Why there? He would get 5.12% for the first £2,500 but then only 0.1% for the next £16,000.

    Is that what you meant or am I missing something?

    Is it worth opening a regular saver for a couple of months? I think i would put it in my Alliance and Leicester current account - but then again, i dont pay tax.
