Cat insurance incl dental and kittens

Hi,
We have just acquired a kitten and am looking at insurance. It's all a bit overwhelming so looking for advice, specifically as we intend to breed and I noticed some don't cover if you will "earn from your pet".
Also, would like dental to be covered but apparently this is complicated as you have to have check ups every 12 months, which aren't covered, and even then, routing scaling isn't covered. Confusing to say the least!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Put a certain amount away every month in a box labeled Cat and take some out if your cat needs a vet.:)

If you are intending breeding presumably you have bought a pedigree cat from a breeder. As k that breeder about insurance.

This is a living, breathing creature not a business transaction.

No insurance covers routine maintenance: be that home, car, pet .... Dental is routine not an insurance matter. Check ups are done alongside other routine veterinary care.

You cannot have "acquired" a high quality pedigree kitten from a reputable breeder without an insurance policy already in place and without understanding the basics of caring for a cat. Reputable breeders choose their customers from a list not vice versa.

1. Why do you want to breed from this kitten? What is your business plan?

2. Your question indicates that you are a novice to keeping cats, let alone breeding, so why try and breed from this kitten when you don't know what you are doing?

3. What is your position on Lucy's Law?

Thanks for all the "advice". FYI, I am no novice. I used to breed cats, just not in this country, and about 10years ago, so the insurance is somewhat different/changed. I was asking for advice on best insurance from somebody who might have some constructive hints/tips, that's all.

The advice to discuss insurance with your breeder and routine care with your veterinarian is sound. It is the norm in the UK for a pedigree kitten to already have insurance in place.

It is unlikely that the free cover from the breeder would cover breeding the cat.

If you have bred before, why not ask your professional contacts for advice? There are several organisations and breed clubs in the country: they probably have links to the clubs in your previous country.

This forum is awash with stories from posters who have been caught out ( often through their own silliness ) by back-street breeders. Anything to do with breeding or selling animals on this site will almost certainly be viewed with suspicion by many of the readers. The way you a phrased your post certainly roused suspicion: why ask basic questions to random strangers on an open forum, and not get advice from specialists?

Going back to my original questions: what is your business plan? What is your position on Lucy's Law?

This is not complicated at all, you have a pet you take it to the vets at least once per year for a general check up Confusing to say the least! Your post is confusing why on earth do you want to breed from this cat? When there are thousands of cats being killed every day as no homes for them. What is so special about THAT cat? If there was and if bought the kitten with permission to breed then the breeder would have given you all the advice you are asking for here. But I guess that was never the case and you are just planning to use the poor creature regardless. Poor kitty.
