Yep, you're exactly right. Apparently if you apply through ONE payday loan operator, Wonga for example, they have the right to sell on your details to brokerage firms who take money out of your account without authorisation. Lloyds bank have confirmed this for me and I think it stinks!!

Wonga loans serve their purpose for a one off emergency loan. I have used them twice before and paid back ON TIME and was very pleased with the service provided. However I am disgusted that they reserve the right to do things like this! Surely it should be against the law?!

Are you saying that Wonga gave your personal and debit card details to The Right Loan For You? And that Wonga did this completely unprompted by you?

I thought Wonga were one of the less bad PDL companies out there.

Hang on... So you have started a thread to warn people to not use therightloan4u when in fact they haven't charged you but Nouveau Finance Limited have?

What has this got to do with Wonga?

I'm not standing up for them but having used Wonga a number of times in the past I have never once been charged by a broker "they sold my details to" so I don't know why you're listening to your source at Lloyds whom sounds like he's spouting nonsense!

I can image that maybe they sell your details so companies can contact you which is bad enough but I unlike many people do think that there is a current need for payday loan companies and posts knocking one of the better ones will only serve to drive them into random lenders they found by searching Google for something like "Bad credit loans".

Can I ask why if you have used Wonga in the past you didn't use them again this time instead of going off and using one of these brokers who charge for their services?

I have debt problems and I've gambling problems which I'm sorting but I get tired of people who have been stupid and then don't just hold their hands up to admit their mistakes.

    You need to help yourself.

I don't actually believe that Wonga sold the OP's details on even though that is what he/she is claiming.

Because these companies are not stupid enough to move to committing mass fraud when they can make plenty of money b y duping people legally into paying their pointless fees.

Probability of the poster lying or being mistaken, 99.9%. Probability of fraud being committed, 0.1%.

Without firm evidence to the contrary, I'm coming down on the side of lies or mistake by the OP. You may of course choose to believe in the grand corporate criminal conspiracy explanation.

In exactly the same way that II'd say you were lying if you told me that you had a unicorn, or that you were nine feet tall...

You may be mistaken, you may mis-remember, or you may be mentally ill. All of these are far more likely than you telling the truth.

Rightloan4u is a trading name of Nouveau Finance - one of the same and Nouveau Finance is actually the company you're dealing with. However, it must be said that I have since received a full refund.

And yes, I applied for a loan through Wonga as I have used them in the past and found them very useful. They aren't as expensive as the others and if paid back on time (which I always have) they do exactly what they say on the tin.

However, they have since sold my details on (confirmed - not speculation) and numerous loan brokers have had a chunk out of my bank account. It is not just me who has had this happen to them, it doesn't take much searching to find hundreds of other people who have been robbed in a similar way.

You can all have your opinions, call me stupid, whatever. However, I know what I did, I know what has happened and I know who is to blame and it certainly isn't me.

There will be some people out there who have found this post useful as the same has happened to them. A number of people have already messaged me to ask for the number as they too require refunds. If you don't find this post useful, thats fine, just don't post! Don't clog up the feed with unhelpful comments that users who need the real information will have to wade through to get the facts.

Are you saying that Wonga sold your card details to a broker?

Even if that were in their T&C, it would, IMO, be unfair and unenforceable.

Contact whoever issued the card, report it as an unauthorised transaction, and insist on a refund. Send a written complaint if they won't play ball and look forward to a bit of compo too.

I don't know why people put up with this sort of thing. :rotfl:
