Very strange behaviour from dog

My son has just told me this about his lovely dog and we are both very puzzled maybe someone has an idea
"6am heard a load of barking from downstairs came down and she was laid down shaking and she'd wrecked the blinds she was also drooling. I tried to here near her and she snapped at me" This is very out of character she is a lab and has never ever snapped. My son seems to think she had a bad dream,i think maybe she saw something out of the window. She is fine now.

    Fox in the garden?

If it was, I'd have expected the dog to want to go out and investigate though.

The other possibility is a physical cause such as some sort of seizure.
Maybe just monitor now and see if anything else happens.

I'm in agreement vwith elsien, it sounds like some type of seizure. If she'd have seen something exciting then she wouldn't be lying down.

Difficult for a vet to do anything with a one off event. Hopefully it is a one off, just keep an eye on her.
  • Lying down shaking sounds absolutely terrified to me. Like that poor dog on the anti-fireworks ads on FB - shaking like a leaf.
