Monzo and TFL journeys

Options
Heya. For those who have used their Monzo card for TFL journeys (bus, train and tube), do you know if it she’s on your account, or you receive the notifications right away about how much you’ve spent? I used my Natwest card yesterday for the train, tube and bus and I’ve noticed with legacy banks it can take a few days for it to reflect on the balance or even pending transactions when you phone the bank? Is this different with Monzo? I’m aware that all contactless payments are offline so can take a while to show, but wondered if Monzo sends you a notification at all, or if the pending transactions reflect on balance at all?

My suspicion would be that payment processing would be the following day at the earliest as there’s a daily cap so it won’t know how much to take straight away.

I’m happy to be corrected though.
    I hate verisimilitude.

It definitely won't be instant as TFL charge for all of each day's travel in a single combined transaction.

What you might see is a pre-auth for the maximum fare shortly after you touch-in.

TfL only pre-authorise a minimal amount. This is either £0.00, £0.01 or £0.10, depending on the card.

You can view your usage online or through the Oyster app during the day. Sometimes it can take a while for data to reach HQ, during which time parts of journeys may not show.

Be interested to know as I have used both my Natwest account and my Santander account on the tube last weekend and both accounts has yet to show any payments..

There is now an TFL app in the Android Play store and I assume the equivalent for Apple as well that shows you your spending etc

OP there might be users on the Monzo community forums who can answer your question.
