Inform your employer not to phone you when your on leave,be firm about it. If you are unable to get through to them regarding this and it's a persistant problem change your number and don't tell them,my employer no longer has my number and they have tried to get it in the past.Unless you are contracted to be on stand-by and they pay your line rental they have no right to have access to it.
    Don’t be a can’t, be a can.

My husband's old boss was terrible for this, despite any queries always being included on a list he left if he was planning leave. He then made a joke some time later about there having been new rules brought in so he wasn't allowed to call, so I think it is now if not banned, at least controlled. We never minded if it was unexpected absence or sickness, or even if in a crisis, but it was regular stupid, early morning queries that were a complete pain. I would check with your hr dept.
Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early :D
