So flew out with Virgin Atlantic with my brother on Thanksgiving for a week staying in the upgraded Cleo king size room in the Luxor, cost £715 each for flights and hotel each (separate room for each as I like my own space), booked through LowCostUSA. The guy checking us in remarked on what an amazing deal I had got.

Made the mistake as being half asleep by not telling the cabbie to go the short way to the hotel, got stung for $30 cab ride, didn't make that mistake going back and only $15 as lesson learnt.

Booked 3 MGM shows through MyVegas for free and also a House of Blues concert. All were top quality. Ka was absolutely amazing (had seen it before and didn't disappoint the second time around and even got front row seats which I would particularly recommend for this show, but won't divulge why as don't want to spoil it, Love was pretty special too, although felt I was on an acid trip for some of it. Fantasy was better than expected, although was a late start at 10.30pm and only lasted for 1 hour 15 minutes. House of Blues was Steel Panther and really was a good gig and there were some quality support acts before they came on as well. Worth checking out YouTube before you book any of these to see if they are your bag.

Went to the ice hockey as well and was blown away by the T Mobile arena in comparison to top class arenas in the UK, so many staff and no queues for anything apart from the rest rooms, although the rest rooms were all staffed to make sure they were kept spotless. Staff in the T Mobile were amazing all lining up at the exit giving the supporters high fives on the way out! Not a bad view in the house so my tips would be if going to book the cheap seats as they are still amazing and also book through the secondary ticket market as season ticket holders sell off seats for games they are unable to attend at a discount from buying direct and tickets are transferred electronically to you using an app called Flash Seats, instead of paying $140 for two tickets I got them for $70 inc fees. Loads and loads of police at the T Mobile as well making sure everyone was safe. Another tip is if you want any Las Vegas Knights march, get it from Dicks sporting goods in the Fashion Show mall as they are cheaper than the official shop in the T Mobile.

Whilst at the T Mobile arena one of the nearest bar (Beerhaus) was hosting the NASCAR champions week with all the cars lined up on display and lots of free giveaways, picked up a few bits including three t-shirts. Whilst on the subject of Beerhaus I thoroughly recommend this bar as it is just a normal bar with no machines giving a sanctuary from the gambling! Also happy hour from 2pm to 6pm where they have beer specials on at $4.66 a pint (inc tax).

Other bars I would recommend would be BeerPark on the other side of the road from the Bellagio fountain, beer prices were reasonable over lunch here too $7 and had hot dogs for lunch there at about $10 for two dogs, staff were incredibly friendly there. Liked the Aurora bar in the Luxor for a nightcap, servers there were amazing and didn't stop for a moments rest.

Helicopter flight of the strip with GC Tours was pretty special too and I would say a must do for only $89 each, being picked up in a limo and dropped back off, glass of bubbly at the heliport and the flight of the strip, this time the pilot was less chatty which was a shame!

Other places to eat which I thought amazing was Toby Keiths in Harrahs for a steak and Umami Burger in the SLS for the most amazing burger, both at decent prices.

Bit disappointed with Ri Ra in Mandalay Bay for food and also disappointed with the Public House in the Luxor as the food was disappointing and the staff were uninterested and just chatting to each other.

Was in the Bellagio when it was robbed and thankfully the cashier just handed over the money to the robber making sure everyone was as safe as could be by not putting up any resistance.

Not a big gambler, but got a free spin on the MLife wheel at the Luxor for my birthday and got $25 freeplay which I doubled up on the slots. Won $15 in the Excalibur on the progressive chasing the $10 mil and down a little in a couple of other casinos, probably just about broke even.

Weather was pretty good for end of November being 26-27 degrees on most days, only had one rubbish day when we were in Fremont street where the wind had really picked up and you ended up getting grit and sand in your eyes and mouth.

Overall a pretty good trip for my second on there this year!

Re the secondary market for the ice hockey. Where do I need to look. Thinking of going to a game in March.

Haven’t been to ice hockey since they stopped playing at the Orleans arena

We also love KA and its our fav show but many people don’t seem to rate it

You can use Seatwave, Viagogo or Stubhub which are pretty reputable and known in the UK but I used Vivid Seats, they are a US based company and were a fair bit cheaper than Seatwave. Think you can also download the Flash Seats app and get them on that, but I just used that to have the tickets transferred over to me. Didn't get the tickets sent through to the app until a couple of days before the game, You can use the app on your phone as your ticket or register your credit card and they scan that at the stadium. Easy as apple pie and a great experience!

    hi
and thanks for the trip report jon1970.I am a bit nosey in regards what other people do, also for deas and any money saving tips.Lowcostuse has been mentioned a few times and will be looking into them to see if there any deals to be had !
Like you our last tip to vegas was like a 20hour day and the time we got to vegas i wasn't sure if i was coming and going and i think we got long hauled by the taxi-thought the taxi driver said there had been an *accident* (cant remeber where he said it was-unsure if an accident is a common excuse?)

We did fantasy in our last trip and liked it, though i was worried incase one of the dancers fell !

thanks again for the trip report
    kind regards

I paid $27 each for mine on Vivid Seats, order total was $75 including the fees to give you some idea, pretty good saving IMO. Was in the cheap seats, section 218 row P and it looked as though there wasn't a bad view in the house! On game days Beerhaus right next to the arena do specials on the beer so stay there as long as possible as beer and food is very pricy inside the arena, it's a very short walk and very quick to get in and to your seats!
