In England you have to marry in a licensed premises. Technically you can't get married outside, but people try to get around this by marrying under a gazebo or archway while the guests are sat outside. I saw a venue where the couple married under a gazebo on a lake.
The registry office in Havering is a beautiful old building with gardens and a small lake. So it's definitely worth looking at different registry offices.
I think you can find lists of licensed premises online so go through them to find the smaller, cheaper and more unusual places.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -
My friend decided on a small beach wedding but didn't want to go abroad. They are keen walkers so settled on the West coast of Scotland. They essentially went for a weeks hiking stopping off on the middle Wednesday to get married and carried on.
I asked her if her mother would be there. Her reply was 'What would we do with mother for the other six days?'
They did have a party at the local pub a couple of weeks later.Love living in a village in the country side0 -
