Thanks for confirming! Will act faster next time!

I learned the hard way: rushed into the shop, found the desired item and was half way to the till when I skidded to a startled halt when I spotted that the price was higher. So sophisticated..... :o

I found out about the sale by email at 3pm but others had been informed by 11am so had a head start of some hours.

I have complained but nothing seems to change.

My wife got her E-mail at 03.17 on Sunday morning. Mine arrived at 10:04

Not sure how long it takes to send out millions of E-mails or what order they send them in but you would expect them to arrive by breakfast although the E-mail said the Sparks offer ran from 00:00 11 March to 23:59 12 March.

She had her order in for 8 items by 08:35

Did not make any difference to us as we knew about it on Friday as the wife works for M&S.

When I used to work for M&S a few customers said that they got a good response when they wrote/E-mailed the chairman as apposed to customer services.

Oh as the price in the preview is always 50% off and it can go up when the sale starts always buy as much as you can. You have 14 days to return Sale items from when you collect them or they are delivered to you.

I was in a city branch of M&S yesterday.
Racks and racks of stuff...but nothing really.

A lot of stuff wasn't even 70% off.
I looked at some leggings that had been £17.50, reduced to £7.99 (55% off).
I did buy a pair of leggings that had been £25.00 for £8.49 (66% off).
And a thermal long sleeved top for £4.29 from £16.00 (more than 70% off).
Mine was burnt orange, they had the same in grey but that was £7.09.

    So - bizarre pricing (imho).

And the items are non-returnable under 'change of mind'.
I might be wrong but I thought the 70% off sale items were returnable within 14 days earlier this year and it was only the 90% off stuff that was non-returnable.
Tiny lettering on the sale signs about this.
Lots of people got to the tills to be told 'no returns' and went off to the changing rooms.

Poor service from M&S - imho.

I find the cashiers always make the all encompassing statement that the goods are non-returnable. To which I normally make a comment about "but still subject to sale of goods legislation".

Have to agree about odd pricing - yesterday I bought a dress for £14.29 which had originally been £35, so just less than 60% off. It had been just over 50% off (£17) before that.

I was in the Sheffield Fargate branch yesterday and hey were selling hot air bags as the drier alternative to the conventional hot ware bottle.I used a couple, last night and had a lovely sleep.I have used plumbers PTFEtape to seal the threads but leeks persist.

PS the bags are guaranteed for life and were reduced in price from £19.99 to £4.99,saving almost 75%,with various motifs such as Brer Rabbit,Noddy to appeal to kids
