What happens if a beneficiary to a will dies?

Options
Hi,

I'm looking for some advice please. My uncle passed away late last year and named my sister and I as the beneficiaries.

My Nan passed away a week ago and my Uncle was named a beneficiary in her will.

With my uncle's estate still in probate. Where does that leave him as a beneficiary in my Nan's (his mother's) will?

Any advice would be kindly appreciated.

It depends on the exact wording of the will. If the result is that the legacy fails then it goes to the residuary beneficiaries.

Just to clarify - that's the residuary beneficiaries of your nan's will, not your uncles.

The exact wording of BOTH wills is crucial. Without that nobody can say.
