I have been quoted £500+VAT to close down my limited company
I am solvent I just don't want it anymore as I have stopped trading
Is this a reasonable quote or should I shop around

Hi Tony,
The board you've posted this on is generally aimed at quotes for work in the home - building work, gas, electrical, decoration etc.
You might get a better response to your query on the Small Business board here on the forums! They will have a better idea on the cost involved with winding up LTD companies.
All the best!0 -
As long as your accounts are in order (VAT, annual returns, confirmation statements etc) then download DS01 form from the .Gov website and fill it in. Very easy.
Post it off with (I think) a £10 postal order. It takes a while to close down but that's all you need to do.0 -
Wind down the business so its dormant for 3 months (minimum). Inform HMRC and anyone else who needs to know. Send the form and cheque for £10 to companies house.
Make sure you take all the money out first - or it goes to the Crown when the company is disolved.0 -
I stand corrected :rotfl:0

We move threads if we think they can receive a better response elsewhere.0
