And to think by while sharing the football between Sky and BT was meant to promote competition it also ends up costing the consumer more money.

It's not really a price rise as such. It's as if Tesco decided to discontinue their Value beans, so you had to buy the normal ones instead.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

That's a very spurious analogy, how is BT discontinuing a "value" product ?
It's just a price rise for the existing product.

No thank you, BTs customers are all having to subsidise BT sport through higher prices.
...............and I don't like Jake Humphrey.

    ............... and I don't like soccer.

BTW, who's Jake Humphrey, is he a soccer player?

Ignore that last bit, Google has enlightened me.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Fibre is the future, of that there is no doubt. But BT need to drop their prices to a more reasonable level. They have finally started offering discounts (6 mths half price etc) but its no way near enough imo.

The old option of ADSL broadband + BT Vision + BT Sport is no longer available from today.

Infinity + BT Vision + BT Sport has been available since BT Sport was introduced, last August. It will still be available.

So BT are discontinuing the cheapest option for BT Vision. The more expensive one is still available.

BT have increased their prices for almost everything eralier this month, but that was a separate price rise, and will have affected most customers.
