    HI,

Please can i join this? i'm going to start small with 3000, as i would like to save this on top of my regular monthly savings.
Going to try and save this by using cashback sites/ebay and finding other ways of making extra. Hopefully, i'll also be able to cut down monthly spending to help save a little extra as well.

Looking forward to saving and making a change

I'd like to aim for 2k cash. This is in addition to the regular DD's I already make to savings/investments. I want to see how much of my designated disposable income I can save when I try.
Regular saver account already open to start pay the money into!

Sorry to hear about your husbands' job Ruthy1604

I have managed to pick up some overtime over the Christmas period, I really don't like my job so I am hoping that this challenge will motivate me to put in some extra hours over the year. We have just given our meter readings (g+e) and turns out we owe them some money so part of the overtime will already be eaten up. I'm sure we can make it back somewhere, the grocery budget seems likely.

Is everyone else who has set a hard target to meet hoping to reach theirs by earning more or being frugal?

Yes, I am in part. I know I can do about 80-85% of it from salary if no big nasties happen. The rest is coming from everywhere; a bit of overtime, a bit of belt-tightening; having a really good declutter (we'll sell off what we can on the internet then car boot the rest), and making more use of vouchers and cashback sites.

Basically I'm going back through everything I do to see where I can make some relatively painless changes first and then institute a few challenges throughout the year.

I'm going to aim to actually hit 6000 this year. Haven't properly looked at the budget yet but I feel like I could have done it this year if I had just tried a bit harder!
