You would do better in all honesty to make contact with Sky to see if you can agree a payment instalment plan. By the time it gets to a debt agency and you have 'Can't Pay, We'll Take It Away' banging on your door, its sort of gets out of your control at that point and if you've seen those sort of shows, there is little in the way of compromise.

As to whether Sky would take you back as a new customer... You will probably be credit checked before they say yay or nay. If a debt has reached an agency, that won't do your file any good and will probably nobble your chances for a good few years...
