Stash Busting 2019 - I WILL use my mountains of craft stash before buying more! 28th Dec 18 at 10:19 AM
Hi everyone I'm back and raring to go with my stash busting challenge in 2019

The challenge is simple. From 1st January 2019 you are not allowed to buy any new craft supplies until you have used what you have (adhesives or items for orders are allowed) but of course nobody is going to hurt you if you happen to fall off into the dark (or pretty paper) side for a bit

My aim for 2019 is to make 2019 items from my stash

This thread is a great motivation to me and hopefully others so I'd love for you to join me on the journey.

Let me know what your targets are and I'll add you to challenge.

Can't wait to hear how we all get on

Thanks keepcalmandcraft, I found a pattern and tutorial on pintrest that suggested aquarium gravel but that seems quite an expensive way of doing it so will go with your suggestion of rice.

Did some rock painting which included a rather large memory stone that needed repainted that goes on fil graves at the cemetery, I walked it back up there today.
Stocking is now all sewn and completed which I'm pleased about.
I've got some beads for courage bags that I need to finish putting ribbons in and some baby hats to sew up, will hopefully do those tonight while watching line of duty after I've had a bath.

I haven't done anything much this week. Really lost my mojo! I did try to put some pyramage bits together but they didn't line up properly so I binned them straight away. I suppose that counts? No bites on all the craft stuff I listed, but still time yet.

My front room is looking a little better. I need to Clean down a dresser and put some kitchen stuff into it. I’ve put shelves in the doesn’t room to hopefully hold some stuff. I need to make some baskets to do this but I don’t want to rush them and they look pants.

I have two large cushions that I need to take somewhere so the stuffing can be used. And then three large cushions that need to go to the tip. I don’t really want to stick them in the bin as they’ll fill it up. But once they’re gone I can count them. They’ll make a massive space.

I’ve not been productive as I seem to have no time. But I have so many ideas.....

What does everyone else do to find / make the time to make stuff????

Since these threads began I’ve failed at stash busting, I realise now days I’m a craft hoarder more than a crafter Thinking of selling some of my stash but don’t know how! Do people even buy paper pads any more of backing paper? Would anyone ever use rubber stamps any more?

Vikki, people buy, but not for a lot. I've had some success on eBay and Facebook, although had a total time waster last night which was frustrating.

I have made 6 cards today. I had a tidy up in the spare room (crafting room, let's be honest) and binned a couple of sheets of rubbish and sorted out a small pile of papers I don't like. I found out some ribbon to make a necklace with (getting at the stuff is half the battle, spare room also has all the baby clothes & bits to sell!). Not huge gains, but after a while of no mojo, a good start. I need to get sorted as I've got a craft class Friday where I'll get a load of new bits!

I’m still slowly ploughing through my crafting sort out. We were camping this weekend so masses of washing to try to dry is taking up my time.

I also had a small slip. I bought some fabric. Enough for two dresses. Both light chambrays one with butterflies and one with stars.

I also bought some muslin for jelly and booze making. Which was essential as I have a load I need to sort out and the last muslin had - worn out.

I now need to make some things to make up for the slip.

    Hope everyone has been busy.

Sometimes the small slips help motivate you to get some stuff used! I have used up a good chunk of the stuff I got from mum, and it has spurred me on to do some more cross stitch, and I've even pressed some fabric that was sat months in the ironing pile! I did the ironing too, not just the fabric

Gave away one notebook I had been holding onto for best since 2013. Thinking of making some greetings cards to sell/at least use myself out of a draw-full of stuff I have.

I知 glad there has been progress. I have washed the muslin and when I have sewn / hemmed some of it I will count it. I知 thinking I have enough for a couple of double layer cloths and a large bit spare.

    We値l see....

My partner is away this weekend so I would love to do something. I however am feeling rubbish. So run down I have cold sores never had one before and I look like I致e been stung by a bee. I知 treating them with those plasters. Not entirely convinced they work. (I知 obviously expecting miracles and they clearly should have gone in 16 hours. Rather then grow).... they池e feeling bigger then my nose right now.

Well done ponypal, it's hard to let go of things, especially the nice things.
Hope you're feeling better soon nimbo, use the weekend to recuperate! Maybe write some ideas down if you want to do some stash busting in spirit.
I had a lovely time at my craft class. I did get the bundle of goodies, so it looks like I need to crack on and use them up! I do at least need to use the papers and ribbon up, the stamps will be used lots I'm sure as they are lovely. This lady also has a bring your own project night once a month, so I might do that to help focus my stash busting a bit more. And actually get 2 hours of crafting free from interruptions... bliss!

I’m now on antibiotics for the face plague. Yay.

I finished another one book at work.

I spent the day yesterday sorting out buttons. I have a bucket and have a load of sets all tied together now. Not exactly a space saver but it filled my day. Haha.

Today I am hoping to be a laundry ninja. The basket is rather full - it’s been a pain because the weather has been crap.

Next on the list is finish a denim basket and some muslin cloths.

Poor you nimbo! Hope the antibiotics help soon. I have resisted the urge to buy lots of new tools and things that I used in my craft class. I have put them on my wish list instead for Christmas. Joining in with all of you is helping to curb my impulsive purchasing!

I found my list of crafting I wanted to get done whilst I was on maternity leave. I have done two things from the list of 15, oops. I have decided to get rid of some of the things I put on there as I don't actually enjoy it all that much, so that's a box of stash busted! I will be doing some scrapbooking once I've cleared the last few half done cards off my desk, and then hopefully that's a few more bits ticked off. I still need to do my wedding and honeymoon scrapbooks, and I've not even thought about those yet...!

The face plague is much better after the antibiotics. Yay - I’m still not allowed a kiss though. Boo.

I have finish off another note book at work. And made the equivalent of four notebooks for my work Filofax. It is different coloured dot grid paper. Saves me a fortune.

    137 / 400.

I have a craft session booked tomorrow. I have no idea what I’m taking with me yet.

I hope everyone is busy and have a good week.

I’ve been to the craft session. Managed to complete a cushion cover for my lap top tray and a small denim basket.

Not masses used up but it’s a strong start. Yay.
