Cheong's offers = not all that good (they are kickback offers)

Mlife Offers = Go with the option that works, and when you get to check-in, try your luck with a $20 sandwich for the upgrade along with some cheek ! :D:D You got nothing to lose!
Worst case, if they say they cant do nowt, just offer $10 per night to upgrade from the westwing, might work!

hi
and thanks for the response!
It seems if i go direct to mgm website it seems (fingers crossed) to work okay!

Am i right in thinking i can add the myvegas rewards to the 4 night comp?

and on a side note if anyone has *bought* extra chips on myvegas it seems you can get 3 night comp at the bellegio for sometihng like 5500 gold lps, hopefully helps somone

thanks again !

Trip Report, May 2019

Nights: 16 (of which 5 were in Vegas)
Plan: The "Grand Circle" ending in Vegas
Notes: Our 3rd time in Vegas!

Flights

19th April, LHR to SEA - BA Economy
19th April, SEA to SLC - Alaska Airlines Economy (BA codeshare)

5th May, LAS to PHI - AA Main Cabin (BA codeshare)
5th May, PHI to LHR - AA Main Cabin Extra (BA codeshare)

I wouldn't recommend flying into SLC unless you want to see the sights / save some cash for the grand circle. It was much cheaper than a return to Las Vegas!

Car

We did a BA Holiday (flight + car + hotel) so this was included.

I booked a group D... but was instead given a Mitsubishi Outlander which was great for traversing the national parks!

Pre-Vegas

Pre-Vegas I saw the following places (in order):

Salt Lake City
Capitol Reef National Park
Arches National Park
Canyonlands National Park
Mesa Verde National Park
Vally of the Gods
Monument Valley
Glen Canyon Damn
Horseshoe Bend
Bryce National Park
Zion National Park

Vegas!

We planned our route so we could spend a few days chilling in Vegas at the end of our trip! All 5 nights were added onto our BA Holiday (which was the flights, car + 5 nights for a total of £1,818.44 for 2 people!).

30th April for 3 nights: Tropicana

LcSgOVa.jpg

USll76X.jpg

I quite enjoyed Tropicana. Yes it was quite far from the "action" but it was only around $5 for a Lyft to the Linq! I found it easier to get a drink playing games here, even if I didn't do too well here!

The pool was quite nice to look at, but absolutely freezing to go into! They say it's heated... but you can say anything!

They gave us a free cookie each on check-in when we gave them my wife's Silver status number. No points were accumulated for the trip though.

3rd May for 2 nights: Golden Nugget

WVM5lDj.jpg

VdDow8o.jpg

The last time I stayed downtown was in Four Queens which was quite noisy. This time, despite staying on a Friday / Saturday night, it was very quiet! I think the windows were just generally thicker which was nice!

The rooms looked great!

The pool was awesome, I went down the slide a few times... even if I said I wouldn't do it again after the first time!

There are some blackjack tables near the pool, but $10 minimum so I blew $100 quickly and didn't go back!

SqcVz9v.jpg

I did manage to come up a few hundred dollars up overall, mainly thanks to Golden Nugget Roulette & Blackjack at the Four Queens!

Shows

'O' by Cirque du Soleil

We had only booked 'O' by Cirque du Soleil before going out but wanted to get some Magic / Comedy show tickets while out there!

The first show we saw was 'O' on the 1st May! Personally I didn't quite like it as much as some other Cirque du Soleil shows and it looked very similar to a show I've seen previously in Macau (The House of Dancing Water).

The other shows we booked were all thanks to The American Casino Guide. This guide cost us ~ £13 on Amazon and is packed full of coupons!

Mac King

We used the "Buy two drinks, get two free tickets to watch Mac King" at Harrah's!

h6QoaQE.jpg

Anx6jpY.jpg

Mike Hammer

We also used the "Buy one, get one free ticket for Mike Hammer" at the Four Queens.

hnvzImB.jpg

NLcybWr.jpg

I loved both shows, having seen both of them on TV (Penn & Teller's fool us) it was great to see their shows in person!

Food

Everyone knows there are a variety of Buffets available in Vegas!

Seasons Buffet, Silverton

7EkyUdi.jpg

We went to the Silverton Buffet twice! We were going to use the coupon from the American Casino Guide, but if you signed up to their loyalty scheme, you get a 50% off coupon! So we both signed up on separate days!

This was my favourite buffet I went to on this trip!

AYCE Buffet, Palms

cjd9DHg.jpg

We had lunch at the AYCE buffet which is located in the Palms. This was very nice. It certainly looked posher than the Silverton but the range of food wasn't as good for me! We used a 2-4-1 coupon from the American Casino Guide.

Paradise Buffet, Freemont

yA1wJHF.jpg

After checking in early to the Golden Nugget on the Friday we had lunch at the Freemont Hotel. It was dirt cheap with the 2-4-1 coupon from the American Casino Guide!!!

Other notable food options

We both had the Prime Rib Special at Magnolias, inside the Four Queens, again using a 2-4-1 coupon from the American Casino Guide.

HmnWYaW.jpg

There is now an In-N-Out burger located outside the Linq. In-N-Out Burger is my favourite fast food burger ever!

fGbajoA.jpg

Final Thoughts

Don't worry if you're "too far" from the Strip. Uber/Lyft is incredibly cheap and you can save tonnes more in hotel costs not staying there!

Get the American Casino Guide, it's full of coupons!

Great report, we dont see as many as we used to !! :D:D
That In n Out burger! mmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !! I am sooooooooooo stopping at in n out next week !!! :D

@Bobby, if u use a comp, whether it be a corp Mlife offer or a myvegas, u gotta leave 3 days between offers....
3night bellagio on myvegas ?? thats the golden egg thing u read about, but doesnt exist...
5500 LP's would just about get u a 2-4-1 on a Luxor breakfast!
2nt comp on myvegas in bellagio in prime season ? good luck with that !! :D

If u have any kind of offer at the moment for 4 nights, and it includes fri/sat , use that and maybe look at other hotel websites for the best room rate u can buy for another hotel (excal / hooters, etc), or bite bullet and stay in your mlife comp'd hotel... (and then combine bookin at checkin, so u dont have to move out of the room)

Resort credit = u bill all to your room, and on check-out, if u spent less than 100, nothing to pay, if u spent more, u pay difference...
Freeplay is loaded on your mlife card... pick a slot, press the OK button, enter your pin, choose option 1 or 2 (cant remember which) for Freeplay option...
U load in $100 for example, press Max spin (ok, 50c or whatever :D:D ) , and when u spin and it takes your money, the freeplay credits it back....
job done!

Solo trip = ultimate freedom to do as u please! :D:D

Your flight - that be the LGW/LHR direct to LAS right ? hand luggage only ( i hope you know that already <airport and bag> !!)
and your comp, if that covers the wed-sun , happy days, the remaining nights in theory, shouldnt cost too much

@stephen
As above, great report ! :):) Where did you host your photos ? i am hoping to do a trip report for my trip....

It's all about the Animal Style Double Double (2x2)! Technically a "secret menu item" (animal style), but it's not really a secret! That's what I always get, plus tonnes of the free chillies!

It was like ~ $8.50 for two Animal Style Double Doubles, which is slightly more than off-strip but incredibly cheap considering it's location! There was a line out the door but the service was really fast!

i remember back in 2014, i ordered the 2x4 animal style with the chillies....
I was wanting to be greedy and get 4 beef patties, but i got it wrong! cheese overload killed it, and the 2 chillies at the bottom were cheesy melted! :D:D:D:D:D

Wait, you can order animal style and chillies in the same burger?!?! I always thought it was one or the other!

I've been missing a trick for the past few years... I just take a bag full of chillies!

I already miss In-N-Out... :/ Really wish it would open some UK stores, would blow Five Guys and ShakeShack out of the water!

Greetings from Rhodes!

Great report Steven! Thanks for the photos. I can never be bothered with the faff of hosting them before uploading.

In n' Out Burger opened on the Linq Promenade 2016/2017. I don't like burgers, but love theirs.

16 days till we're back. We are actually staying a night at the Golden Nugget for the first time. Managed to get a Corner Junior Suite for a third of what it costs now. A few days later it had gone up to normal price. Not convinced we will get the room till I'm actually checked in, even though I've emailed and confirmed it.

As for MyVegas room comps, we each had a 2 night comp at the Vdara last year in June. As luck would have it, it was available for our last 4 nights so we moved hotels rather than keeping our "home base" room on. This year we have 1 night each at the Bellagio.

Hi everyone, on Travelzoo right now for LasVegas, you can get a 20 dollar prepaid card for 10.00. It comes in the form of a prepaid Amex for use in Caesars palace. It’s a promo by the Simon group and I always get one when the offer is on. Normally its Miracle mile shops but this time it’s the forum shops in Caesars palace. Cards run out in Dec

Thanks for the heads up about the Travelzoo offer. In all our trips to Vegas, I've never seen one of those card offers. I did get a $20 CVS gift card for $10 a couple of years ago from a targetted Groupon offer, but had a right faff using it as the woman said I needed a CVS loyalty card to use it.

I have bought Tenors of Rock and the Mob Museum from TZ for our upcoming trip.

Do you know if there are any restrictions? It's not that I'm too lazy to look, but I've been struggling to get wifi here and now I have it, I'm struggling to see the screen for the glare.

I don't think I've ever bought anything at the Forum Shops, but we go to The Palm restaurant for lunch quite a lot.

Yea, it posted at the 5th attempt! And I don't know why it's putting in 2 blank lines between paragraphs when I'm only putting in one (now edited)
Edit - I have now looked at TZ and see both The Palm and Cheesecake Factory listed. Does anyone know if the voucher is resricted to merchandise only or if restaurants are included?

Flipping Nora! I didn't put a blank line between paragraphs then, expecting one to be added, and it hasn't added one! I give up.

Looking for holiday advice please.

Complete Vegas novices, never been, not a gambler, but like the idea of a base in order to visit Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam etc, time round the pool, looking to possibly go in June.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
