Hi Sealed Potters, I hope you are all relatively well. I’m getting better slowly but I had a really nasty fall on the 28th. I’ve no idea what happened but I fell from the top of our stairs then apparently jackknifed landing on my lower back with the back of my head smashing against the wall, my legs still facing upstairs!

The 3 Paramedics (1 in a rapid response car) were wonderful, they gave me treatment here but feared I’d fractured my skull or had a bleed in the brain. They rushed me to hospital but a CT scan revealed all was ok! I’m still very badly bruised and my lower back is extremely painful, but hopefully I will soon recover. They kept me in until the Sunday as I was concussed and I’ve been home recovering since. I’ve a lot of pain behind my hips and 2 horrible places on the back of my head, plus...a bowel infection! Still, I’m counting my blessings as by golly it could have been so much worse! I haven’t a clue if it was epilepsy related or not but I have absolutely no recollection of it at all until I landed! My beloved DH has been fantastic as you all would know but I’m unable to go up or downstairs alone anymore, too darned scared too anyway!
To be on the safe side we’re going to have a stairlift fitted, it will take so much worry and fear away from us both as we have a very awkward staircase. For now I go up with DH directly behind me, I come down right behind him with my hands on his shoulders.
My how life changes in the blink of an eyelid!

I’m not staying on here too long as I’m just not up to it, but I couldn’t help but notice that our former SPC 11 thread is back, what a paraphernalia! Thanks so much for amalgamating them, Westie!!!! So sorry to hear of your problems and hope you’re soon able to leave the past behind. {{{hugs}}} for you to at least help a little. :D Good luck with the weight, no doubt it’ll make a huge difference, the release of endorphins will make you feel so good.

Vicky - have a wonderful holiday and well done for clearing up behind your DH!

Thank you so much for being so caring 32b3, Lynne and Lost.

It sounds as though you’ve certainly got a far more comfortable car, Lynne, DH and I opted for the same in 2014 due to a longstanding back problem hubby has, it makes such a difference! Safe and happy traveling.

You all please take good care! Love and best wishes folks. What a lark in getting my password to be taken!

    Hiya Sue :hello:

Soo sorry to read of your horrible tumble  but pleased that no permanent damage seems to have occurred, apart from your confidence a little. We all were getting a little concerned over your long absence.

Sending you some big, soft, squishy hugs and a bucketful of gws vibes.

Dear oh dear Sue - So sorry to hear of your fall.

The stair lift is definitely the way to go. My Mum has had one for years and any visiting kids will love it! Thinking of you

  • Good morning potters!
Sorry to hear about your fall Sue many people in my family have stair lifts and it!!!8217;s transformed their lives. My niece and nephew absolutely love riding them too, but they make me feel very dizzy!

We!!!8217;ve been on the ferry to Rotterdam and had a wonderful (though cold!) time, the OH has just put the deposit onto his first car (he!!!8217;s finally taking lessons in his 30!!!8217;s!), and we!!!8217;ve got a wedding to go to tomorrow!
It!!!8217;s been a crazy half term, but I wouldn!!!8217;t have it any other way.

Not much potting been happening (nearly potted some cents but realised I!!!8217;d kick myself come opening time) but hoping to have lots of change after the wedding.

Huge hugs to those who need them (and those who don!!!8217;t hehe!)
