However ... playing nicely ... the local Indian is having a street food festival this evening and he has booked us both a table and is payingMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Work is very quiet. But I've had a lovely day so far as rode first thing, then took a print I had won in a raffle to be framed. Now that was a bit expensive (I collect next week) but the print is a bit of a celebration of my 'awakening' for various reasons so I am quite happy with the price and I wanted it framed rather than keeping it rolled up until 'one day'Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Oh thats good about the print (and the ride!) I like that. Make sure you don't take any money to the local Indian, after all why would you, he's told you he's treating you2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Indian was amazing (and I didn't pay!). I lost count of the number of courses, beautifully served and beautifully presented. I think there were around 8 courses of "street food" from all over India followed by a main of 3 (tiny) curry servings, rice and a (tiny) piece of naan bread. I only recognised one of the dishes (a tiny lamb kebab) and all the others were great, just one I didn't like which was a sort of nut thing with a yoghurt dressing but a great way to try lots of different foods.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Frustrating day so far. I have been paying someone to clear the fields of ragwort and do other jobs and no complaints about their work at all but the ragwort has been piling up and I had thought I could slowly get rid of it in the garden bin.
However the person has been very diligent in removing it and there is rather a lot of soil and the pile gets bigger and bigger so today I decided to take it to the tip. First load up car, takes ages.
Then drive to tip, dispose of in garden waste, return home load up final lot and drive back to tip.
This time I am approached by one of the workers who looks in the bags and says it is soil ... I explain it is weeds and roots and yes soil around the roots and rather composted which is why the green has now begun to rot. A discussion starts with others chipping in. Eventually the manager of the site is called who decides because of the roots it is garden waste ...and then...changes his mind when he sees the amount in my car and decides it is definately soil and I can pay £20 to dispose of it in the soil area but can only leave half ... I will have to come back tomorrow and pay another £20. Rule is only 5 bags! I point out I have only 4 bags - but - they are the wrong sort of bags apparently and not suitable or really allowed. By now I just want the stuff gone so I pay £20 leave as much as I can in the soil area and then decide to drive to a different recycling/rubbish place to get rid of what remains in my car. Good plan eh? On the way there I get stuck in traffic due to an accident and the 25 min journey takes 3 hours. Finally back home!
My car was loaded up and of course I wasn't going to leave it all in there until I could get back there some time next week or later and it would never really occur to me to "dump" it somewhere but whilst sitting in traffic I did begin a fantasy that involved me throwing a clod out onto the verge each time the car moved a few inches. I reckon I could have got rid of the lot that way and there was already a lot of ragwort on the verge of the motorway anyway!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Oh dear Watty, how annoying. I read your posts regularly but rarely post. We moved to a new house, cleared the garden and took some stuff to the tip. Including about 3 house bricks and some odd bits of rubble. These were deemed to be non-residential and the minimum charge of £2 applied. I'm sure the £2 went in the worker's pocket...... In future any odd bits of stone etc will be going out a bit at a time in the general waste.Make £2024 in 2024
