Peugeot 307 engine noise. Any ideas?

Not really sure how to describe it, so I've recorded it and uploaded to YouTube but can anyone identify what might be causing this noise (or whether it's completely normal)?

It's a 2005 Peugeot 307 with a 2L petrol engine.

    Does it go away when the engine warms up?

    Is it louder if you listen at the right wheel arch?

    My guess would be bottom pulley the belt goes around. not sure on the petrol but you might be able to see it though the wheel arch if you turn the steering all the way to the right.

    The noise doesn't seem to change with engine or vehicle speed, strange one.

    To be honest I've not tried. I've just been washing the car and started it up (it's my wife's previous car which we're getting ready to sell), so I've not had much experience driving it. It was serviced two weeks ago and the garage never said anything.

    DUTR - the car is stationery. The other car you can hear was someone going past our street.

    It sounds like it's coming from near the drivers side. Is it something I should book it into the garage for do you think? (Not particularly good with car mechanics).

    Sounds like it could be firing in 3 cylinders.

    Just been serviced, might have left a plug lead badly connected.

    I'm unsure as it's the wife's old car. I'll take it out for a drive later and find out what happens.
