The weather here is like Christmas... flippin freezing and wet... Who stole summer??/

We have had a lovely few days off together... We went to climb a mountain on Monday.. OMG I was so breathless.. yesterday we had date a night.

Walked 10000 steps today but not done huge amounts. Top up shop from Aldy £35.. including toiletries and cleaning stuff. went to home and Bargain and bought carry on luggage for our hols £8.99..

Yesterday managed to find a new picture for our sitting room chimney breast.. I really want an original from a former colleague, but i'm too scared to ask her prices... So I picked up from BQ a map of the world with the sea currents on, the same colour as our walls. As we live right by the sea it's quite fitting :D £28

  • So my mortgage diary is about spending!

went to bq again... got a floor lamp (3rd choice reduced from £47 to £30... :D:D We are smartening our living room... mmmm had success at spray painting a lampshade so We've spray painted our wooden Venetian blinds white... the stench is awful... so onions, vinegar, buckets of water are actually working in reducing the odour :) not sure if I will have the stomach to do 3 more though.

on way back, in Dunelmmm spotted a single mattress for DD2's bed for £9.99.... reduced from £60 :) needed but not desperate for.

then picked up OH specs 2 pairs for £79 :D

Spent another £20 on food... so £55 in total.

still using the petrol from last week... only 2 shifts (14hrs) to go to my annual leave :D:D

have paid lodgers money off mortgage,, could do with bnb picking up

  • Yay, I have reached my annual leave :D

OH not off until the 2nd week. But next week is DD2's A level results... all fingers crossed so she isn't disappointed..

Was thinking off a couple of days away , however the spray painting of the blinds not great.... but the samples from the internet blinds shop are lovely... I think another withdrawal from our savings will be happening (as soon as OH gets up to help me measure the windows)

Have had a couple more @irbnb bookings but still slow... doesn't help that most of September is blocked out until we know what is happening with DD2 and uni.

She doesn't want to go.. then she does... so who knows

I need to stop my spending bug...

Paid the rent off the car today £80 .. bank accounts mess up, well too many on low funds... but Monday will OP £80 when bnb money arrives :D

Have reached £5 payout available on pulse surveys... will sit on that for a bit .. I think..
OH working OT on monday (hurrah) ....
I have no OT or even Weeknds in work until October!! = poor wages :(

YS Lamb shank in slow cooker for later.. We bought a huge bag of spuds in Aldy last week and they are still unopened.. so mash to go with the meat..

Need coffee, crisps and biscuits... will do small shop.

Well done for walking up a mountain and managing over 10,000 steps and that picture sounds lovely at a good price!

Hope things become clearer for DD and the results are all great!

I wouldnt worry about spending every now and then, you work hard at paying everything off most of the time so you are entitled to buy things as well! I find that I go through phases where I will seem to spend a lot but then it evens out again!

  • Thanks Brizzle, if we feel in limbo heaven help her :o

Won £26 on pub game, similar to bingo... we rarely go to the pub at night.. I've had the headache to remind me today.... meant I had the cash for the window cleaner today.. OH paid for the pub too

Forgot about some biggies this week, OH dentist..... £242 (Friday)
Friends daughters wedding Saturday.... so money to spend, and it's a taxi job... there and back :(
plus a pressie.... won't be a cheap do.. I think I'll wear my CS dress for £3 :D

OH pay day on Friday and he pays his final debt payment :T:T:T then next month I get the extra £100 towards the OP :D

My silver roots are coming through :( now with DD1 being a hairdresser it's not too bad a cost, however I have terrible hair which seems to have deteriorated over the past few years at least. I have a patch at the back which doesn't grow past an inch or so since alopecia in that spot after DD2, and the left side is weak and short and the right side is healthier. It would probably be ok if I kept it shorter but I hate it short and it's unflattering to me. I'm wondering if the brand of colour has anything to do with it. My mum (84) stopped colouring hers a couple of years ago and it seems really healthy. So this week we'll be going to the hair wholesale place to see if there is an organic type colour that is less harsh to hair. So now doubt another few quid will be spent .....

I've been feeling a little bit out of sorts.... AL is partly to blame... I've too much time on my hands..

feeling over weight and uncomfortable but have no will power. I have decided to get fitter... now i can walk for miles but have no upper body strength anymore. in my 20's and 30's I was a bit of a gym addict. So i'm going to see what the local gym is like. The local authority one has been upgraded, cheap and a mile away. Plus I now have 4 days off to fill and another week and a half of annual leave :D

Still trying to eat from freezer, although OH spent 30p on bread this am (wharburtons toastie x3) He did take me out to tea yesterday because I was miserable (about being fat :rotfl: )

Waiting for DD2 to get up.... results day !!!!!!! she says she's not going to school if she doesn't get a place :o she can check online at 0800........ but she's also probably been up half the night and has told me not to wake her...

OH earned a few £'s on his 2nd job and gave me £50 for me. However I can see this wedding on Saturday costing over £120 already .... taxi's, present and drinks...so it will buy euro's for their honeymoon.
