A happy new year to you all.
All spends totalled, and so pleased to know that I came in under my 2011 budget
Budget reduced even more for 2012

Ooh no worries I've seen you are there all ready! Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Bye Bye 2011 Frugal Thread.
Thanks for everone that posted on here. You all kept me on the straight and narrow much more than if I hadn't joined.
Will miss our merry band of frugalistas on here. It always felt such a nice place to post as I'm sure the new 2012 thread will be.
Huge hugs

Before going over to the 2012 page, I need to report on 2011. I did well! I have £1829.42 left from my original £7800! This has gone in to savings, so I don't have to worry about any unexpected emergencies. (And, I may be able to afford to go and visit relatives in Canada, which is something I've wanted to do for ages!)
Happy New Year everyone - I do appreciate the support in being frugal, even though I don't always get on here much!Keeping three cats, the car and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -

Starflower oil is meant to be much better than Evening Primrose oil for female stuff - the last lot I bought in Superdrug. It seems Boots, Superdrug etc are now stocking the less effective (& most likely cheaper) Evening Primrose Oil with Starflower oil now.
I just bought some starflower oil capsules online at healthspan.co.uk as I want to delay the onset/& symptoms & had noticed my PMS being scarey after stopping Pill (no sweats but GP bloodtest said :eek:perimenopause).0 -
Someone told me this little method to boil the perfect egg (soft boiled) and save money each time (need a timer though)
Set timer on iphone (or elsewhere) for 6 mins
Take pan, add eggs, add cold water to cover eggs. Bring water to the boil. As soon as the first bubble is seen i.e as the water starts to boil. Remove from heat. Set timer off for six mins. On exactly six mins remove water and you'll have the perfect soft boiled egg.
This method uses a lot less heat as the egg cooks in the heat already contained in the water.
Ok - so you're not likely to save millions but watch the pennies and the pounds take care of themselves!0
