    Hi all,

Anyone have recent experience with the Travelex Global card? I'm travelling soon so don't have time to wait the 7-10 days for other cards, will need more currencies than Euros for an interrail trip. The MSE post says that this card has no ATM fees, but the Travelex site says they do (travelex.co.uk/services/cash-passport/globe-cash-passport/globe-cash-passport-fees-and-charges)

Has this changed recently or am I missing something?
    Thanks

p.s. This is my first post, apologies if this is the wrong thread

Metro Bank debit card if you are in or around London.

Kalixa Pay. Apply for it today, utilising a referral if you can and choose top up(using a debit card) with £10.. If it doesn't arrive in time, you will only have 'lost' £1.95.

I'm sure that the Interrailling trip wasn't conceived today. What were you thinking?

    WeSwap £10
I've signed up for WeSwap through the MSE link, they've given me 1 year fee free but after loading £50 I haven't received the £10 bonus. Anyone had a similar problem?

Revolut - So far, so goog
I signed up with Revolut using the MSE code, and added £100 via a bank transfer. It took a while for the money to appear; I sent it at about 13:00 and it arrived just before midnight.

I didn't get the £5 bonus so I contacted Support via the app. They were very responsive and added the bonus manually immediately.

This does seem like a remarkably smooth, well-wriitten app, and an easy, frictionless service, I hope it manages to find a way to make money and become well-established. It's much better than anything any of the banks are currently offering.

I'm travelling to Costa Rica and thinking a pre-paid travel card is my best option (in conjunction with my existing Nationwide Select Credit Card). I may need to pay in USD as well as the local currency of Colones. Can anyone comment on whether I would be better off with Kalixa Pay or Revolut. Thank you.

    ukash card
I've got a ukash euro pre-paid mastercard but I'm a bit weary about topping it up as the website says they are not issuing new cards.

Wondering if they can still issue replacement cards if lost whilst abroad, etc.

Tried google, but can't find much on what's happened and if they are still safe.

As MSE recommended the card, I thought there might be some info. about the situation on the travel money section, but I can't see anything. ukash has just dropped off their list of recommended cards.

Anyone know (not guess/speculate) the situation?

    Thansk.

However when she came to register there was no option for giving an invite code, so presumably the app must have been able to access her mobile number - and recognise it as one that had been sent an "invite a friend" text - even before she typed in her number. I got the referral £5 ok though.

    WeSwap via MSE link

Yes, I signed up for WeSwap through the MSE link too, loaded £50, but haven't received the £10 bonus yet. The card arrived in the post today, and I've activated it. My first swap is due to complete tomorrow.

I've emailed WeSwap support asking for my account to be credited, so I'll update this post if/when I get a response...

Update: Just had an email saying my £10 has now been credited to my account - which it has. No idea if this is related to my email to WeSwap customer support though.

Prepaid travel card for atm transactions in Portugal
    Hi

I am going to portugal in just over 2 weeks and would like to get a prepaid travel card. I will only be putting on £360/Ä500. I want to use ATMs to take out cash as we are going all inclusive we like to have a bit of money a day. Don't really want to take all cash and fork out for a safe. We have a santander and natwest current account but as we are going to Portugal I know the free ATM fee will not be allowed by santander.

Any suggestions or would travellers cheques be better

I have used Weswap prepaid card for last 5 months in Malta and Prague with absolutely no problems. Cash withdrawels and purchases with card effortles. Easy to load - have loaded Euros and USDollars obtaining great rates. Be aware that if you delay the swap to take advantage of the lowest charge of 1% you are subject to the exchange rate movements during to period prior to completion of the swap. No hesitation in recommending on experience so far.

"WeSwap" & "Revolut" prepaid currency cards.
    Hi all,

It could of course just be me pressing the wrong buttons.

I downloaded the "WeSwap" app, applied for and have received my MasterCard......BUT I am now having problems logging into my account and (for me at least!) the site is not user friendly.

I downloaded the "Revolut" app and today have managed to create an account (I think!) but each time I try to confirm my identity (using passport details) the screen says 'VERIFICATION FAILED' and then the site promptly crashes. It does appear that I have been allocated a MasterCard which will apparently be printed tomorrow and will then be posted to me......I am not holding my breath!

I will post my future successes/failures/frustrations as they unfold.

Since Caxton fx have changed to MasterCard rather than visa the sms balance and load function no longer works "they have not implemented it yet, but hope to have it in place by end of the year". This was one of the cards most useful functions I thought, so am looking for another card

Didn't know about the SMS but I use the android phone app and check balance or reload when I am on free wifi in my hotel, works fine.

I have just bunged a few more quid on mine at 1.407 euro/£ its not the very best rate but in line with most pre-ordered currency rates.

All I need now is the Germans to keep stuffing cash in the Greek cashpoints for another month or so and we are good.

Any update on how good/bad or even trustworthy the Revolut card is....I'm travelling to the Caribbean, USA & Canada soon & am thinking of using the Revolut card but am a little sceptical.
