  • Thank you Tempus01. I shouldn't actually be so busy, i'm just very unorganised LOL. Like if I had got up yesterday and gone to town earlier I would have got everything done and not had to go back today. But thank you so much for reading. Good luck with your debt free journey too.

Todays shopping wasn't too bad. Took £50 of uniform back to asd@ that didn't fit. Collected the 'free' shirts for DS. Decided i'll wait till it's colder to get the girls trousers, the ones that came didn't have elasticated waist and were massive! Did get pe trousers/jackets and the girls had a watch each now they are venturing to the park £39.05 spent.

Also went to card shop and spent £7.50 and £3 parking so wan't too bad considering we ventured into primark and claires, usually spend a fortune in both. DD had no idea what to get her friend, they are off out tomorrow so not sure what she's doing.

DD2&3 saw some pj's so said i'd order them for Christmas, also ordering same for my nieces, cant believe how organised I am and still money in the Christmas account. DD3 wanted a coat but they didn't have her size and out of stock on line too, will keep checking, it was same as DD1's from last year and she wanted to match.

Just checked balance transfer and it's now pending on 1 CC but still on the other. Forgot it was bank holiday and will take longer to sort.

Dh is off tonight but he had been up since 7 yesterday morning so now in bed, hoping to make the most of our rare sunday together and visit a localish animal park with the little ones, it's free, just pay parking and for animal feed. We haven't been before but other people I know seem to love it.

Well done for getting 'free' shirts! Uniform is so expensive :(
It sounds as though it's all been a very productive time.

Just a little input from me for your daughter . My own daughter did the same course in childcare , she got enough points from the diploma for university . She is niow a nurse, so that course can take her anywhere . Well done to her.
  • Thank you Cumbria Lass, it's good to know they can still get into uni through it. The lady did say she could but I was a little unsure. DD has always wanted to work with children with SEN. She seems to be looking forward to it.

Not been a good few days for the bank account! Ordered the pj's, £93 for 7 onesies! But that's 2 nieces sorted and my younger 3 pj's for xmas eve and the little 2 for xmas day.
Yesterday I attempted mr T with the kiddies! Just under £50 spent and the trolley consisted of a joint of pork (£11) nappies (£9) some frozen veg, bread milk and way too many snacks and treats! They are back to school next week so not too worried.
    Cat food £4.50.

Last night I finally did it! The new freezer is ordered! Coming tomorrow. I've had to compromise with DH but we have saved up enough for one of the ones he wanted. Was £1299 reduced to £999 and had a £50 off voucher. After extra to take old one it was £980 and then £28 cashback.
Still gutted I couldn't make him choose the cheaper one and save another £300 but I suppose at least I've managed to get him to save for it, normally he would have got the CC out without thinking.

Also spent £25 something on hangers for the kids rooms. The ones at the bottom of the stairs collapsed last night under the weight of all the coats, school bags (that still haven't been emptied) pe bags, swim bags... hoping to hang most of it in their rooms. Ordered them at 11.30 last night and they were out for delivery at 7 this morning! It will be mostly covered by the £18 back for the shirts so don't feel too bad.

So this morning the bank is looking very sad! Need to work on building the savings back up ready for the boiler. Today will be a NSD as DH in bed.

I did BTEC early years at college and still went on to work in an SEN school. Make sure she tells them her ideas then they can try and find placements in an SEN School if possible. It will definitely set her on the right tracks. (I failed English Lit at school (D) but went on to do it at sixth form along side the BTEC and passed) It didn't hold me back. She will love it!

Bet it will feel amazing when the new fridge arrives I love mine :o

    Have a lovely day x
  • Just a quick post before the little ones go swimming.

The freezer has arrived! took some doing but it's in and plumbed, just waiting until I can turn it on. Will hopefully save a fortune in electric, food (the amount we have thrown away when it fails) and meal planning.

Yesterday the fridge/freezer was empty and forgot it was bank holiday by the time DH got up, so I gave in, we had takeaway again!

After girls have been swimming i'll do a bit of shopping so we aren't tempted with takeaway again.

£37 paid to CC today taking the total to £600.
