Selling shares - timing

Shares go up and down all the time. Is it possible to leave instructions to sell shares when they reach a certain level?
I have some shares, which had I sold them at the correct time, I would have been happy with the profit, they are now much lower, so I am just waiting, and waiting.

I have some shares in a HL ISA and some where I hold the paper certificates.

HL provide the ability to set 'limit' orders. Information here.

Obviously not valid for paper certificates.

Anyone have any idea if Interactive Investor has a similar feature?

I don't know about II specifically but I'd be very surprised if any platform/broker didn't offer this. It is a basic trading operation.

Limit orders and stop loss orders expire after 90 calendar days. They are deleted after close of business on the day of expiry.

I guess that is similar to what I was looking for, thanks.

I'm not aware of any provider offering unlimited time for limit orders.

Just set a quarterly reminder in your calender to check the price ans reset your order :D

You could also look at buying call or put options for your stocks. This is more accurate but costs even if you don't exercise your rights to buy or sell
