    Cheap internal flights
We went to New Zealand in April and booked ourselves an internal flight with Air New Zealand from Auckland to Christchurch. Completely by chance we happened upon a loophole... The prices were different depending on which website of theirs you used...

If you book by their .co.uk site the "Smart Saver" ticket was shown as "no seats available" with the cheapest ticket available as their "Flexi Saver". If you book via their .co.nz site the "Smart Saver" was now available! Same flight, same route, same plane! We even phoned them up to check this and the guy basically said "If it lets you book it, it's OK"!

Rechecking this for a random date in the future the .co.uk site gives a price for a flight on this route as: NZ$221 which equates to about 84 but the .co.nz site gives a price for a flight on this route as: NZ$130 which equates to about 49 - 35 cheaper!

    cheap flights to Australia
Hello, does anyone know the cheapest place to get flights to Australia?
  • bcleeve
    Cheapflightsales.com & Ultimatefares.com
Anyone used either of these US sites?

If so, feedback would be appreciated. I am trying to book cheap flights to Douala in Cameroon from Cairo; Douala is one of the places expedia el al do not think exist (like Yangon & Terhan - US politics!)

One not mentioned here is Asda Travel

    www.asda-travel.co.uk

I've had some great prices of late on long haul flights. You can also get 2.5% cashback via quidco.

Does anyone know when Ryanair and Easyjet start selling flights? We have booked a villa holiday next summer and need to get the flights. We could buy Monarch as their booking is already open but several budget airlines don't have those dates yet.

    Additional airport possible?
    Hi

I'm trying to do a search on the FlightChecker but it doesn't seem to have Newquay Airport on there - is this an oversight or is there a reason Newquay cannot be included in the search?

    Cheers

I recently got hooked up with this book, Airfare Secrets Exposed that describes how to fly as a freelance air courier, buying tickets from consolidators, flying on charters, getting air passes, cashing in on frequent flyer programs, getting compensated for being bumped, finding travel information on the Internet, and a bunch of hidden airfare tips which can be used by travellers round the world. I strongly recommend this book to all of you.

Using a return ticket for a one way flight to save s ?
Example: Virgin return London - Tokyo is 650, the one way fare is 950. So the logical thing to do is buy the return and only use the outward bound leg.

Any catches to this idea? Do the airlines make any conditions to prevent this sort of thing and how would they enforce them?

Beware of Wonky weekends to Barcelona!
I would just like to relay my experience of a wonky weekend to Barcelona. It was a few years ago but I would think it would still apply.

We went on a cheap flight from Leeds to Barcelona on the Sat and returned on the Tues.

The fights were very cheap but when we arrived at a nice hotel in the heart of Barcelona square, everyone was very tired and just wanted to sleep. (Which was very difficult with all the lively nightlife outside our window)!

We looked forward to enjoying the same on the Sunday! However it was absolutally dead - no nightlife on the Sunday or Monday!!

I guess what I am trying to say is pick your City carefully to make sure everything is the same on the Sunday as it is on the Saturday!

Manx2 flights from Gloucester to Isle of Man and Jersey
This small airline is currently offering 39.95 fares on its routes from Gloucestershire Airport including all taxes. Amazingly, in this day and age, parking at the Airport is completely free and is about 30 yards from the Terminal Building. It is, without doubt, the easiest airport I've ever flown from.

Avoid credit card charges from the no frills airlines
    Hi,

I have been told of a way to avoid paying the credit card charges imposed by airlines such as Ryanair and easyjet i.e. the extra 5 added to the total per person per flight when you pay via your credit card.

I have not had a opportunity yet to try this for myself so if any you guys do and it works please let me know. The trick is as follows (for Ryanair, as thats what I was told about):

    (1) Find the cheap flight that you want by the usual search facilities , say , its 30 incl. taxes and charges
    (2) Return to the home page or open a separate tab of the home page and purchase the airlines vouchers to the value of the flight you want. i.e. the 30 but no harm buying vouchers worth more as I believe you always have them until u use them
    (3) Use the vouchers you bought to pay for your flight to avoid paying the extra payment charge

Let us know if this works.

    cheap flights
Just a tip for anyone searching for cheap flights. I was searching for flights from Bristol to Corfu from 11.5.09-18.5.09 through screensavers and the only airline that flies there, Thomas Cook Airlines. To book though the airline it was 1400 or screen savers @ 1200. However, I have booked the cheapest accomodation through the Thomas Cook Airline package holiday web site and total cost was 721 which included meals on the plane. I checked with the airline and they don't care if I don't stay in the accomodation.
I have saved @ 700. I originally got this idea to search for package holidays just to get the flights from this web site.
    Many thanks.
