In other news, after losing our car and other stuff in a flash flood, we heard yesterday that our tenant has gone to prison! Just what we needed. Anyway his tenancy officially finishes on July 4th so I think we will just ask the EA to find us another. I hope we get a decent one . The one who has gone to prison was actually a very good tenant :)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

Yes Floss you are right, that might be a good option to consider.

I genuinely dont think it's a huge job, it's only the end sections of about 4 joists. The surveyor seemed to think Its basically a simple chop and patch exercise and then treat the timbers to prevent woodworm.

The EA just rang, Mr Buyer is apparently ok with the survey and hasn't gone into full blown panic mode. Whilst he was concerned about what nasties might be lurking in the cellar he is well impressed that I've already organised a specialist report. At least it shows him that I'm not ignoring the issues.......

Anyway we will know more tomorrow after the timber guy has been.

Have to hand it to you LL you are so efficient - glad to hear that your buyer hasn't panicked about it.

Sorry to hear of your further problems seven-day - it is always a bit of a worry looking for new tenants - hope you find a good one.

Sugarbaby - great news about your ESA & housing benefit being reinstated :j

Not a huge amount of fabbing going on here (apart from make-up and perfume which is worn every day) but am hoping to find the time over the weekend to do a home manicure & pedicure - I have been creaming my feet every other day (can't quite get into the routine of doing every day) and they are looking much better - when I first put my sandals on they were not looking great

SDW. Sorry to hear about your tennant. You seem to be having a bit of a run of bad luck, at the moment.

Well in other news......because I didn't go into the city centre for lunch I didn't get my hair cut today as intended. Oh well maybe next week.

Sukey.....I too ahave been taking better care of my feet, creaming regularly. I also need to book a chiropodist appt soon. I am also practising my reflexology (a bit difficult on yourself, you need to be a bit of a contortionist:rotfl:.) and have taken to giving myself regular foot and hand massages. It's definitely helping with arthritis pain and stiffness.

One thing I have been doing which is really showing good results......I bought one of those battery operated facial cleansing brushes. It also came with massage heads. I have started using these regularly. Much easier than trying to give myself a manual facial massage. My skin feels lovely and soft and the regular massage gives it a nice healthy glow.

A good investment for just £12. I'm going to get one for each of the girls for Christmas.

Just checking in to see how everyone's getting on. I've been reading but not got around to posting.:)

:T brilliant news about your finances sugarbaby. I'll bet that's a huge relief.

Hate the pun that came to mind 7DW :obut.... it never rain but it pours! What a week you've had. I think you may soon need another holiday.

You're right to be philosophical about the house move LL. It'll happen, hopefully this time and you're doing all the right things but if not...As you said Que Sera Sera.

I've got all my routine fabbing appointments lined up for the coming week starting with a chiropody appointment tomorrow. I've been much better at creaming my feet this last winter than previously so no problem moving into sandals. Chiropody (or maybe podiatry?) is more expensive than a pedicure but I generally think it's worth it. Tomorrow I'm using the last of a course of treatments I bought then I'll have a pedicure until the autumn before buying another package.

While I'm in the city centre I'll take back that frumpy sundress and maybe browse a little. I'm going to look at Hush in John Lewis to see if I love anything enough to pay the prices.

We're out for a meal tonight but it'll be smart casual in a Thai/Chinese restaurant. It's a dull day here with intermittent rain so I think it'll be jeans and a long sleeved top.:)

sugar you must be so relieved that you have your outcome and know where you stand.

Maman enjoy your Thai meal (Im getting hungry thinking about it)

Lessons good luck with your move.

Good news for me, work have agreed to let me leave early, but still keep my redundancy pay. I was quietly confident that they would, as they have accommodated other staff in similar situations, but I didnt want to count my chickens too early. I have a months notice and a weeks annual leave before I start my new job. Am looking forward to the future now.

    Hello Ladies,

I have not got the outcome to my ESA Appeal. I have just had my money reinstated while the Appeal is ongoing, as I was on the assessment rate of ESA and that is what has been reinstated. The Appeal will take approximately 6 months before it is heard and after the hearing I will eventually have the outcome. The DWP then has 28 days to decide whether they want to Appeal the Tribunal's decision or let it stand.

Chanie, great news on your leaving your current employment early and keeping your redundancy pay.

    Hello Ladies,

Just want to let you all know that Tesco Direct will cease trading on 9th July 2018.

I am sure there will be bargains to be had across all departments.
