Hi all - I'm so excited to be here I have my pot and sealed it up, but silly me forgot to count what I put in it, so I'm counting it as a few pennies bonusChanging my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

I’ve updated my sig with how much I’ve potted so far which is about £35.
I’m only going to add up any notes I put in and not coins just so I have an idea of what’s in the pot but I’ll still get a nice surprise at opening time.
Unfortunately due to uni exams/work shifts I probably won’t be able to go on holiday in 2020 but it’s made me more motivated to pot as much as I can so I can put it towards a trip for 2021. Now that I have my emergency fund, and am adding to it monthly, I won’t have to open the pot early as I’m already covered which is a good feeling.CC Debt:£450 Emergency Fund: £1,500 Sealed Pot Challenge 2020 #042: £750 -
I have scoured the house for every bit of loose change and emptied my purse into the pot. Going to be slim pickings the rest of the month so will be looking out for roadkill. Might see if there is anything I can sell.
I'm not going to count it till the very last day of the challenge.Sealed Pot Challenge #135

delta13 - Save as hard as you're able to, and be proud!!
Many thanks to you, 32b3. It's always good to start off with a new thread.
We've had some quite amazing Totals on SPC 12, wonderful! Having said that, we've also had members with quite low amounts, which for most of them, is exactly what they were looking for.
Many just don't have the means to be able to save a lot, but they're all so pleased with what they have saved, and that's what it's all about... saving for things that make them happy, saving enough for little extras for Christmas... enough to pay their car insurance etc. It's quite amazing the various needs that folk save for, which is wonderful as, at the end of the day, each is happy with what they've potted!
The most important thing is that they are proud of themselves with how brilliantly they've done! :j Quite magical that.
Don't worry about it being the exact cash potted, aimeemum, and even if we remember every penny we've potted for i.e. £2.55 for the day or week, it's nigh on impossible to remember all we save from week to week let alone throughout the year. So, "haven't a clue how much I potted, but I'm pleased I have potted some." is all that's necessary!
Good to know you're saving and so thrilled about it!!
You're potting very sensibly, Loz! You'll have a rough idea, but not a clue how much your Total will be come next October! :j
A very wise way to view not being able to afford a holiday too. You've much to be proud of Loz, just as you did during this last year!:D Very well done!
You're potting very wisely too, 2goals2get2!! It's always wonderful to have a lovely surprise come the end of the challenge. Keep coming to the thread to stay motivated! BTW, always scour around playing fields and play grounds, it's amazing how kiddies chuck away cash - adults too!!
Hi Saver-upper! You're most welcome. 32b3 is a gem, bless her! All the best in buying your tin tomorrow, and with the amount you'll pot too! :j
Enjoy a lovely weekend all Potters, and don't forget to Pot!!

Hello everyone . . .
Sorry that I've been missing from the thread for so long. I have however, kept up to date with the Monday morning email which has lifted my spirits as to how well fellow potters have been doing.
I can declare that my pot challenge amounts to £1862.53.
Now for the reason the total is high. Other than paying the usual outgoings, I've not been spending on extras thanks to being diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year.
My battle has been hard and I've been in some very dark places but i accepted that the experts knew what they were doing, even though I have felt awful for what seems forever.
My OH has been an absolute star throughout . . . even reminding me to pot the cost of haircuts, when all my hair fell out!!.
I finished my last session of chemo last month (fingers crossed) and I certainly won't miss the throwing up!!. So now it's onwards and upwards and my hope is that by Christmas I will have regained some energy and can look forward to a brand new year.
Family and friends have been marvellous over the months and despite the many invitations to various events already, we have decided that we're going nowhere over the festive period (and we don't want any visitors! . . . Bah humbug but I don't care).
All I know is that we will be in the castle together enjoying some 'just us' time, and that . . . i am really looking forward to. No trying to please everyone, no hassle, no rushing around to be somewhere for a certain time . . . Its going to be absolute bliss.
To any fellow potters who are currently going through their own battles or who are under the weather . . . I wish that each day brings you renewed strength, brighter times and a healthier, happier you.
