I bought a car on finance approx 1986. I know the Garage i bought it from but not who the finance company was. I have no paperwork. Can i make a claim?

You dont need to know the finance company. Its the seller you complain to.Can i make a claim?
No. Car dealers were not regulated until Jan 2005. Whilst some franchise dealers using own brand finance companies will consider earlier complaints, the majority will not and 1986 would pre-date those that go earlier.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
