    Esure do not accept Amex (god I hate their adverts).

    Although add UCI Cinemas online to accepts, btw I Robot not a bad movie for Will Smith.

    I couldn't believe it when I handed over my AMEX card to pay for goods at Boots and they refused it. I moaned at them - "big company like this, not taking American Express!"

    Never tried it in Woolies, they ought to be ashamed of themselves, both of them

    If you're not desperate for the item and know you can get it for the same price elsewhere easy just say that's the only card you've got and ask them to cancel the purchase. Most stores keep a log of why the transaction was cancelled and if this is passed on with enough "Could only pay with AmEx" then they may change their policy.

    101cd.com do accept Amex.

    IAM Select Insurance do not.

    Centre Parcs - Longleat (already mentioned above), not only can you pay for your holiday, but all the little retailers inside also accept Amex. Fancy paying for an icecream with Amex?

    Just renewed my subscription for The Daily Telegraph with AMEX.
    Prudential Insurance would not accept it.
