old finance

hello guys this my first post and its probably been covered before.
In 2002 i bought a motorbike ,the company i got it from went bust i think or changed name .
is it possible for me to find out who the finance company was at the time or is 15 years too far to go back .i have no documents from back then

    Why do you need this info.

    Any complaint etc would be to the company who sold you the ins/ppi.
    Ie the motorbike shop so if they arent around you have no one to coplain to.
    As well as that, it is before regulation so they could have just told you to jog on
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
    and we will never, ever return.

    As mentioned above, your complaint would be to the firm that sold it. Not the firm that provided it (unless the lender was also the seller). Dealers were not regulated until January 2005 and as this was sold in 2002, it makes it pre-regulation. You have no access to the FOS (as they only arbitrate complaints where the firm was regulated at point of sale and still exist today). And you have no access to the FSCS (as they only consider post regulation sales)
