Lots of us spend way too much on work lunches, and with us all going back to the first work day of the year, it seemed like a great time to start saving!

So whether you bring in your lunch or downgrade your bought lunch to something economical, please join the thread and let us know your challenge! Up to you if you include beverages, Fridays, after work drinks or afternoon snacks.

Please let us know your progress, and if you're joining please do so in colourfull letters so I can see you!

My challenge -

Bringing in lunch every day of the month, with no buying snacks or drinks!

I'll update a members list once people start joining!

    on jacket potato?

or i know some people like them on pasta of all things!

cowboy hash is popular in our house - chopped chuncks of beefburgers, fried onions and a dash of worcester sauce stirred through the beans - yum :D

add some curry powder to ring the changes

add them to soup/stew to bulk it out

on waffles - in my student days we used to cook them in the toaster as we didnt have a grill!

    in a cheese toasty

on top of a sausage roll/pastie?

as you can probably guess, i LOVE beans and will happily eat them cold from the tin :rotfl:

    I'm in!!!

This is the first thread I've read for my new debt busting 2010 and it seems like one I can do. I got into the habit of taking food from home a while back but over the last month or so this habit slipped away.

I read a thread probably on the old style board about freezing sandwiches - will definitely be looking into this. So I have done it before and am looking at a no spend for January for me and my son on food at work / school.

Pavlovs dog - potato waffles!! - Yum!!

Can I join in please. I only work 3 days so my aim will be no more than £3 per week on work lunches. Sometimes I spend more than this in one day at the moment!

  • Count me in! Plan is to take lunch in every day I'm in work (Monday to Friday). I don't drink tea/coffee and I take in water so basically the plan is no spending at work at all.

I'd like to join too please! I'm going to try to take in lunch on 4 days out of 5 each week throughout the month and try and fit in a quick walk at lunchtimes if it's not raining! :j

  • Me too please.
I'm aiming for only buying one lunch per week so thats 16/20 lunches to take to work.
The only reason I'm buying one lunch is that I'm often away over night so can't take anything the following day (ie when I'm driving back etc) - just been to Morribobs and bought the entire bread section I think!!!

    Good luck everyone xx
