in Cutting tax
Hi
I moved to Australia in March 2018 from the UK - no set date of return to the UK.
Started work in November 2018 and will not return to the UK until January 2020 at the earliest.
I've been contacted by a UK bank and asked to confirm my tax residency. Am I now a tax resident of Australia and is there any downside to becoming that?
Do I lose any access to services in the UK when i change my tax residency?
Many thanks
Kaspar

it is not a matter of your choice
it is a matter of fact
you are no longer tax resident in the UK based on what you say
had you thought to google the rules and check for yourself?

thanks for the reply
i've tried googling it but can't find any info on the implications of changing country of tax residency other than who gets your taxes. Maybe that is the only change.0 -

You may find that the UK bank no longer wants you as a customer as you are not UK resident - check out the T & Cs of the particular bank / account.0
