Front Fence Garden Fire Hazard?

Options
Hi, so i live in a LiveWest housing association house and have been told our new 6ft feather edge board fence is a fire hazard. We have a total of around 12m in length around our front garden border. LiveWest have said it needs to be taken down as its a "fire hazard". We have a wooden porch which they have not flagged up yet this is attached to the house and was here when we moved in also there was previous fencing here in panels at 4ft high . Can anyone tell me what the regulations are in regards to this so-called fire hazard, I've never heard of it being an issue. Any help would be grateful.

thanks Jordan.

    They're being ridiculous.

There's a myriad of genuine reasons why they might not like the fence height being increased from 4ft to 6ft (does the tenancy allow it?), but "fire hazard" ain't one.

Thanks for your reply, the tenancy allows it as long as we have permission which we have.

    appreciate your reply, cheers

I didnt think front garden fences could be 6ft. But probably mistaken.

Depending how close it is to your house it could be a hazard. Probably not in it going up but in you easily escaping the property.

If kids set it on fire for fun would your wooden porch be at risk?

If its within 2? meters of a public path you need planning.

Umm, permission from presumably the HA...? The same HA which is now saying "Nope, can't have it?"

Or are you thinking "Well, I don't need planning permission, so that's the same thing"?

Contact your local Fire Brigade. They will have a Fire Prevention Officer who should be willing to carry out an inspection and give advice.

They would much rather prevent fires than have to put them out.

This is based on recent experience when we had a small fire in one of our independent living flats. They were extremely helpful.
