Anti-coagulants and nosebleeds

Options
Has anybody had any experience of this and have any advice?

My sister has to take anti-coagulants (not warfarin but a newer drug beginning with "A..") and she suffers really severe nosebleeds every couple of weeks or so. They're so bad that she and her husband can't stop the bleeding and he has to take her to A&E to have the blood vessels cauterised.

It's not life-threatening (depending on how much bleeding!) but it is stressful for both of them. (She's in her 70s and he's in his 80s).

Has anybody had to deal with this? Is there anything she should be asking her doctor? She does have an appointment next week to see a specialist coagulant nurse.

I suspect it's just something they'll both have to live with.

    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
