Hypnos Mattress - Refund?
We bought a Hypnos Mattress from 'The Portrack Bed Centre' in Stockton Cleveland August 2018 for £1,200 we made a £250 deposit and the remainder was interest free monthly payments with Barclays Finance over 24 months
Within 6 months of use - we reported that the mattress had a fault - extreme dipping on each side and a significant 'hump' in the middle!
It was subsequently replaced on a 'like for like' basis by Newbridge Street Bedding Centre Newcastle, as then found out this is the company who had had taken over 'The Portrack Bed Centre' since they went into liquidation shortly after we bought the first mattress. A replacement Hypnos mattress was ordered and delivered to us Friday 13th September 2019
Within 5 weeks of receiving the replacement mattress the exact same fault occurred and was again reported this time, as now Newbridge Street Bedding Centre has also gone into liquidation, directly to Hypnos
We have had confirmation from Hypnos that the technicians report does support the fact the 2nd mattress is also faulty and that we can have another replacement.
We do not want another mattress from this company. We only agreed to the 1st replacement as we are aware we must give the company an opportunity to either repair or replace. They did and the same fault occurred.
We now want a full refund of all monies paid to date.
Hypnos have said they will not refund as we did not buy the mattress directly from them.
There is no company to take this back to as they have both gone into liquidation
Please can you advise how we can take this forward? Can we ask for a refund from Barclays finance? We are continuing to make monthly payments as we do not want to fall foul of 'missing payments' even though the product is not fit for purpose.
