Howdy!
I've got a new job and work from home. I expense my phone bill and broadband as per company guidelines.
Can I claim back any gas / electricity back through HMRC or anything like that?
Thanks

Unfortunately not. HMRC don't commonly pay gas bills.
If you run a business you can sometimes claim them off your tax bill etc but obviously that won't apply to you because you are employed by someone else0 -
If it's compulsory that you work from home you can get tax relief on some bills and your employer is also allowed to pay you £4 a week allowance.
If it's your choice then you can't claim anything.

No they don't, but in certain circumstances they will allow tax relief on some of the costs incurred.0 -
That's interesting. I stand corrected.0
