I hope Santa has brought you everything you hoped for. Enjoy an extra cider or two (or maybe something more expensive seeing as it's Christmas;)) to celebrate being debt-free:beer:. Must be a wonderful feeling.

  • Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great Christmas :).

The Hairy household had a lovely time. We opened our pressies, then went to my parents for Christmas day lunch and dinner, staggered back at midnight and then watched a film with DS2 and DS3 until 2.00am :D.

Boxing day it was back to my parents for lunch and dinner. My aunt, uncle, cousin and other cousin with wife and children came for dinner, so there were 12 of us altogether :).

Then yesterday was our annual day after boxing day party. We bought the party food in the morning and spent £43.38, which was over my budget but could have been a lot worse. I spent the rest of the day cleaning and tidying the house and bringing down extra chairs, etc. Whilst DH painted the kitchen ceiling where the shower had leaked. He only finished painting an hour before the guests arrived and went off to shower . Meanwhile I cleared away paint pots, brushes, dustsheets etc, cleaned the surfaces, swept the floor, started getting the food out etc. It was like 60 minute makeover :rotfl:.

My parents, aunt and uncle, cousin, other cousin with wife and children, and two of my nieces with their partners came. So there were 16 of us altogether. Even DS3 joined us for half of the evening which delighted me. DS2 was the only one not not to put in an appearance. After eating we played silly old fashioned games, which was great fun :j.

DH and I feel shattered this morning but we're pleased we did it, as our party has become a famiky tradition now and people look forward to it. So today is rest and relaxation, plus a bit of tidying up after the party. We shouldn't need to buy food for a day or two as everyone brought some :).
