I'm not in the least surprised at people wanting free money, monkey see monkey do, politicians and our betters and our wonderful celebs have been troughing increasingly blatantly and without a hint of embarrassment.
Those further down the line scent some free money in the air, it's just how things are now.
VW's problem, and others who are yet to be named, is that they did a poor job of cheating, its amusing really.0 -
I took a car in for trade in a year after buying it and the value had dropped 30%. It's called depreciation and happens on most cars.
Or if the trade-in values are as low as some people are claiming there's some opportunistic dealers out there, they've certainly not needed an emissions scandal previously to offer an absurdly low trade-in.
The fact that VW had record sales last year and are on track to overtake Toyota as the largest car seller by volume shows the brand hasn't been noticeably damaged:

Toyota of course who were making the headlines not long ago for deaths caused by unintended acceleration in their cars.

Do any of you own a Skoda that has had the update? In particular, the EA189 engine. I'd be interested to hear if you've noticed any changes with the mpg or torque. We have a 2.0 Superb.0

This is proof some of the car 'fixes' cause breakdowns and unreliability....

VW provide free replacement of car parts that failed soon after fix was applied...Peace.0 -

There are now two depending on whether you bought your car after Oct 2014. Your best best is to join the Facebook group. There are fewer trolls there.0 -
I don't use facebook :-(
Any other options? Yes, trolls are becoming somewhat of a problem.0 -
