Especially for the bad guys who pinch your cards0

An odd use of the adjective "popular".
Whilst one payment method might be described as being more commonly used than another, or preferred by people to another, it could hardly be described as "popular".0 -

I don't see why not:
"Liked or admired by many people or by a particular person or group"

Seems like an appropriate definition to me. Contactless has certainly become more popular with me over the last year or so.0 -

I used mine in the Amber shop in Peuerto de la Cruz Tenerife in February this year to buy fags and booze and they made two additional charges to my account for the original purchase, about £140 in total. So no £30 limit in Tenerife.
I did not ask for one of these cards they sent it to me when the old one expired. So not popular, just forced onto customers. I am asking for the old chip and pin back, it's too risky.
Morrisons charged me for my meal and the drinks of the chap behind me!
Halifax Clarity got my money back for me.

£30 limit for a few little while before the card is reported stolen and you get your money back. Last of the big spenders...0

I stayed in Australia with a friend and their limit is about £70 for contactless. Even for Chip and Pin, you don't get asked to enter your PIN for under $10 or so.0
